I have returned from my six months suspension. During my suspension, I visited another gambling forum. Many members of that forum are serious advantage players with impressive knowledge of the game. I found their simple explanations, patience and tolerance refreshing. This experience changed some of my opinions and pointed out where I had previously misstated the facts. It also brought some things to my attention that I was not aware.
First, video poker advantage play strategy works as described by the experts. If you have access to a combined positive video poker game and you play it with computer accuracy, I believe you will profit. I proved this to myself by playing a near positive single line game on this website for an extended period of time. This game is not available at my local casino. If you were able to play this game with comps, I believe you would make a significant profit. I started with 10,000 credits and currently have over ten royals in credits. While this is not lifetime or anywhere near infinity, it was a sample big enough to convince me the experts are right.
Second, positive expectation games exist in all casinos. Some time ago, I offered $100 to anyone who could show me an example of a positive video poker game I could play. The example I was given was playing leftover Ultimate X multipliers. I owe that person $100. This opportunity only exists for one hand per machine. Still, it is a legitimate positive opportunity. My home casino has three Ultimate X machines. On occasion, a player will leave a machine with a multiplier showing. There is no guarantee you will hit a jackpot, but that multiplier does change the ER. There are other such opportunities. I learned about "Must Pay" slot jackpots, something I did not previously know about. Large progressive jackpots exist as well. I am sure there are even more that I was not told about.
