I would also like to add: FAA, your post is exactly the type of post which could give the uneducated player bad information.
What is that information, don't trust casinos? Is allowing a malfunctioning machine to operate on the floor of your casino a crime? Should it be? Intentional of not, malfunctioning video poker machines cost players money. "Malfunction voids all pays and plays" means exactly what it says. I doesn't mean malfunctions that increase the house edge are OK. That, my friend is information worth talking about.

All I can say it this. If you have any doubts, don't play there.

Phil, using terminology like "common programming quirk" when describing a system which uses a random number generator bad information.

Now it is you who mentions: don't trust casinos and the allowing of malfunctioning machines on casino floors being a crime. Just what are you setting out to do here in these forums since your return?

I am on this forum to talk about what happens when I play video poker. I reported what my wife and I both witnessed in AC and how the casino responded. Players need to feel confident the games are fair. In five minutes they could have put this issue to rest. They chose not to. If you believe a casino won't cheat you by allowing a malfunctioning machine to accept your money, follow me around and I will show you as many examples as you like.

Phil, how many times have you wrote about what you and your wide "witnessed in AC" here in these forums?

You returned to these forums 4 days ago and you are again writing of things which you have written about here many, many times.

Ted, you are the person who brought up our experience in AC, not I. Here is your post.

Phil; I have not taken the time to pull the numerous posts you made about the trip to Atlantic City you made with your wife, you know the time when you or your wife got sick and cut the trip short, but I seem to recall that you were questioning whether or not the game(s) were rigged. Several people responded to you and took an opposite stance and you then chalked it up to something other than a rigged machine. I may take some time and dig these posts out just for clarity.
If you don't want my comments, why bring it up? I believe the majority of video poker games are fair. I also believe it is possible for a casino to "cheat" players without alerting the regulators or breaking any laws. By "cheating" I mean allowing situations to exist that increase the house edge. Among these are allowing video poker machines to be played that have malfunctioning screens, buttons, keyboards and ticket reader/printers. Beginner level players should be aware of this. Regulators should penalize casinos that allow this to perpetuate. When you look at a video poker pay schedule, it should be accurate. You shouldn't have to run a gauntlet of machine malfunctions to earn it.

The solution is simple. If you think the casino is cheating, leave and don't go back. That's what we did.

I only have problems on this one hand. Maybe once a trip. Not enough of a big deal to boycott the casino, but it is annoying. On 3RF/4F, new hand would have given me a flush 99% of the time if only I hadn’t gone for the gusto. It’s the damnedest thing. What can I say? You don’t have to be angry and have such indignation and vitriol. I take it in stride nowadays.

I wouldn't call it cheating but rather negligence and/or, in the case I cited, the attitude of the manager. As far as your AC experience, or other topics you've expounded on before just say, here is what happened, here is what I posted previously and insert a link to the original post (s). End of story

I was in no means angry FAA but I was mislead. When you wrote the word COMMON, it made it seem as if you were claiming this to be a more regular occurrence other than the "once a trip" as you later wrote.

Read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" sometime and all will be good.
