How many different video poker games do you play?

It seems the train has gone off the tracks again. I do not wish to be suspended again. If you want me to agree with everyone on this forum, that's never going to happen. My experience at the casino has never been what some members describe. I don't see any value in telling others video poker is profitable. For 99.9% of us, there clearly isn't.

It doesn't matter what game you play at my casino, they are all losers. This is the norm in practically every casino I visit around the country. Opportunities arise, but they are not as common as reported. Switching games causes errors. Today's games are negative already, why make them worse? If you want to pay less to play today's video poker, play less or bet less. The casino has more money than you do. They make the rules. You will pay to play. Those are the facts as I see them. If anything I said here is grounds for suspension, I guess that's the way it has to be.

Phil, I have no need to see you suspended either. One thing that might help is if you stop seeing ghosts and subtexts in others' posts. Who knows? Even if that would help, maybe that is too difficult?

So, what do you think? How many different video poker games do you play? That is the point of this thread, isn't it?

I am going to go out on a couple limbs and say this question can be answered without correctly or incorrectly interpreting experts' opinions, without a discussion that results generally do not follow expectations and often are wildly different, without suggesting what denomination is best for everyone, without a discussion of playing max coin or single coin, without calculating the game's house or player edge, and without determining what some other poster or I want to believe.

I know … heresy, right? But stay with me for a second.

Let's assume that this is not really that a difficult question to answer, that it does not require breaching your often stated intentions.

Let's see, I of course do not know your preferences today, but they might just be … hmmm … now I've got a guess. Would it be Deuces Wild or sometimes Bonus Poker? Would it be single line? Would it be quarters? Would it be traditional video poker without the many gimmicks and gadgets that are in the newer games? Would it be non-progressive?

Whether or not these are reasonable answers is not really the point. Your preferences are your preferences. So, it really seems that it is quite difficult to answer this question incorrectly.

And it may be ok if others don't have your preferences as well. Best of luck with your struggles.

What a refreshing post. It's nice to know there are some members who feel the way I do.

Over the many years I have played VP, I have tried many different games. I tried multi line VP, but found it multiplied my cost to play by the number of lines. For that reason, I stick with single line games. I am not fond of playing high variance games for long periods of time. If I ever play DDB or TDB, it's as a pot shot. I believe the best way to play those games is to hit and run.

My go to game is Deuces Wild for the reasons I previously stated. At many of the casinos we visit, Bonus Poker is the best game available. When I see that, I play Bonus Poker. I play Bonus Poker as my VPW software dictates. I modify my Deuces Wild strategy to give me a slightly better chance of hitting a wild or natural royal.

Ninety five percent of the time I play max coin (5) quarters. I am comfortable with $1.25 a hand. It earns me the comps I want at a reasonable price. If I hit a quad deuce, I know I am going home even or better. I save out $50 at the end of each day to play the dollar or $5 machines. If I lose it, I leave. When playing all my pot shots, I set a $100 cash out limit and stick to it. By doing so, I am guaranteed to walk out with at least $100 of my winnings. I am always amazed at how many times a year I hit a $1,000 quad deuce. I average 2-3 a year. This is like adding 2-3 quarter royal jackpots without being taxed.

Do I make money playing this game? No. I enjoy playing video poker. I play more than most people. I pay less than most people. It's a fun hobby that I can do anytime I want. When I am being wheeled around by a nurse, hopefully I will be able to continue.

To me the "colorful language" as OMT put it.....
To clarify, my "colourful"reference was not about language, but about the use of colour for identifying the author of various comments.
