This is not a hoax of course, but this is also not Italy. China's new infection rate is approaching 0%. We have the best health care system in the world despite Obama's efforts to screw it up.We will do better!
I believe the media numbers are over-reported, and the total rate of infection is under-reported. Most infected people have minimal symptoms, from mild to none.
This not only inflates the mortality percentages, but also leads them to run around like normal and infect others.

"AMERICA STRONG!!!"

My understanding is that the major fear is that the number of people infected by the virus (some of whom will die) will grow exponentially without efforts to control its rate of spread.

You can question the government all you want. I'm all for that. But listen to medical professionals! Who all very much agree this is a huge problem we are facing.

With several friends and family members in the medical field, I assure you, our lack of preparedness for this virus is no hoax.

It is not simply about the number of deaths. It is about our inability to operate hospitals properly if the spread gets out of hand too quickly. That is the biggest concern. You will have a lot more flu deaths if cornovirus patients are taking up all the beds. You will be unable to properly care for all sorts of conditions. Even with the current low number of infections they are ALREADY running low on supplies in some places. Forget your paranoid government conspiracy theories. This is a big deal.

Slowing the spread is vital.

Agreed and sorry, it is not simple math. It is timing, uncertainty, percentages, supply chain, and so much more

We’ve been caught so flat footed. And we’re not exactly nimble to begin with. Less beds and doctors per capital than Italy. Good luck.

I have just seen a report that the governor of Nevada has ordered the closure of all non essential businesses, including casinos, as of noon Wednesday.

Gleason was probably more nimble than your current Gov!

In Nevada restaurants will be able to serve food via carry out or delivery only. So how will people be able to afford buying restaurant meals while they are out of work for the next 30 days? The Governor said for all to file for unemployment. The Federal Government will give $1,000.00 to every adult citizen (depending on their income).

So: will the Governor of Nevada NOT get paid the next 30 days? Does any politician realize just how little $1,000.00 will help the average American? How will $1,000.00 help a family of 4 while the family breadwinner(s) are not getting any income besides unemployment? What about the health insurance for the next 30 days that many people get through their employer?

It cracks me up when Illinois has a Governor who is worth 4 BILLION dollars and tries to act like he knows what it's like to be a common man in our state. This same Governor ran commercials about how tough it was being raised by his single mother parent but what he didn't mention in those commercials was that his same mother was worth billions of dollars at the time.
