My punishment for playing small for 2020!

Well I didn’t have the heart to take a picture of the first one I caught Saturday afternoon with the Mrs. looking on in disbelief. That one was a one card draw which connected for a 62.50 Royal, but in denial I snapped a shot of this one Sunday evening while sipping a Blue Moon Blonde iced coffee beer at the Bow and arrow bar at Mohegan Sun This one for another 62.50 was also in spades, but was a 2 card draw. I’m going to keep a tally of the difference between 62.50 and 1,000 bucks for the year. My gut feeling though it will never make up the 50k or so lost last year playing vp never mind the extra 10k in extra Federal and State taxes for 2019. I’m still having fun and that is the main thing. Wonder if 2020 though is the year I make up for being under Royaled by 40 percent in 25 years of play. By the way, this one was my 4th hand with the 15 in free play they gave me.

PS.....I had also caught another one Friday night on a nickel game. At least on that one I had in 5 nickels. So that’s 3 in 3 days.

Ah Yes, the old $62.50 royal trick. You can beat yourself up pretty bad when you hit two of them like that. Been there, done that.

Most of us play negative games far from computer perfect. If we were to be honest, we are probably playing with at least a 3-5% house edge. A royal is only worth 1%. By playing small, you can save many royals worth of bankroll. This assumes you stay small. If you start out small then up your bet as you play, you negate the savings. This is where Martingale hurts you.

To help you stay small, hold out $50 and take a pot shot only at the end of the day. If you hit anything decent, walk out with your winnings.

If you are going to play small, start out that way and stay there. Learn to be happy with small wins. It doesn't do any good to hit a $50,000 royal if it costs you $150,000 to do it. You don't have to play single coin quarters. Find a denomination that satisfies you and stay there. If you play max coin quarters, you won't pay tax and you will still have the thrill you desire.

if the royal for one quarter payed 200 dollars it would be the proportionaly correct pay so y only lost 140 dollars apx. but hey if u played the 5 coins u most prob would not have hit that royal . I hope that helps a bit ! prob not !

Is $1.25 bet for the 99% game a big deal for you at all!?

Yes. I think I will stick ri a one two betting schedule. I would play my 800 for one dollar machine, but it only has Bonus Deuces Wild. Same with the sole quarter one that is only a 96 percent game. They put in some nickel 800 for one games on spin poker recently All star 2 machines, but most of them are in bad smoking areas and the few in non smoking are right next to horribly loud penny machines where screaming women seem to congregate and scream non stop when they win 5 bucks. At this point I would rather relax. I don’t know how long any of us will be going to casinos. I just heard on the news the New Rochelle Corona Virus person’s enrtire immediate family and his driver now have it.

I just learned we will be dog sitting at my Son's home in South Florida for a week in April. He lives about 20 minutes from the Hollywood Hard Rock. My wife and I both grew up in Miami. While we are there, we will be visiting some olds haunts and restaurants. Many of them are gone now, but a few remain. I always wondered what it would be like to live down the street from a casino, not I'm going to find out.

The nice thing is you can go just for a coffee and bagel, pop in a 20 and see what happens then go home or on with the rest of your day. Of course if you have free offers, you can hit and run on those too. I’m a bit too far away to do that as I have an hour’s drive and its mostly I 95 which is no bargain to say the least. Still I put 20k miles a year on my car just in casino miles.

We have a small car that we only use for casino runs because we don't want to put extra miles on our nice car. It's two years old and has about 25K miles on it so far. My son has a new four wheel drive RAM truck with all the bells and whistles so he can tow his boat. His boat costs 100K. He eats the fish he catches. I think we get the better deal.

Has anyone ever hit 10 out of 10?
