casinos and inflation

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

OTA when you talk of the Guru and his true believers who say if you don't have an advantage don't play I see that as them giving advice but, you don't necessarily need to take that advice.

I personally do not care how much, who, when, where and why a person plays video poker because it doesn't affect my play in the least bit. I personally don't care if someone else has problems or is critical of my play because, it is my play. I'm gambling with my money and no one else's.

Ultimately, play the way you feel comfortable playing and screw those who don't like it.
Ted, it is one thing to provide advice, it is another to denigrate people who think differently. The OP’s remarks concerning the intelligence of professional players vs recreational players reflect this pattern that I find personally offensive and the reason for my comment in the linked thread. https://www.videopoker.com/forum/viewto ... f=5&t=9611

Too many others have used the same type of demeaning language about those of us who (1) view recreational play as entertainment and (2) find that devoting hours to becoming an AP/expert is not worth it given more meaningful use of free time. I have over time spent money on VP as a casual recreational activity rather than losing time with family, friends, and other activities I found more worthwhile than devoting those hours to mastering VP. To each his own. Whatever floats your boat. As I said, making that choice should not subject one to derision. I will leave it at that. My only regret is my choice of terminology you cited in your first sentence.

We are all playing the same game, however we choose to play it.
