Phil
You often say you would like to see some new and good topics started. Well Notes started this thread with an excellent and interesting topic. Then you came aboard with numerous posts in this topic and NOT ONE of your posts had anything to do with the topic. You totally hijacked this thread to get your own agenda out.

If all you want to discuss is Dancer stay out of these threads and start a blog of your own. No wonder so many people refuse to post anything on this forum.

If you look back through my posts you will find I did comment about inflation. We get sidetracked when Ted decides to pick apart my posts. This is the same tactic used by Bill Ryan that caused all the trouble before. I don't know what happened to him, but I wish him well.

So what is there left to say about casinos and inflation? Prices go up. Your money is worth less. Casinos counter this by increasing the minimum bet. Right now, the minimum penny slot bet at the Tampa casino is .68 cents. What effect does this have on the average retiree player? It means they must play less. They walk around more. They sit at the machines and talk. It's amazing how far someone can stretch 50 bucks.

Playing video poker one quarter at a time is one way out of this. If you learn to play Deuces Wild anywhere close to accurate, you can nurse $50 all day long. This has value to some people. I know this website is about video poker profit, not stretching $50. There are some people here who don't have unlimited funds that wish to enjoy a day at a casino. Those are the people I am talking to.

If you don't want cheap play to be spoken of on this forum, ban me. I am not here to sell you. I am here to help players like me that want to enjoy the games without the depression of losing. The cycle of losing and attempting to recover losses is devastating to some people. It may not be a financial issue at all. This is the bad side of gambling that no one wants to talk about but me.

I went back and reread your first two posts in this thread. I could not see anything in them that was related to "casinos and inflation". Perhaps you can help me out and point out what I've missed?

And, just why do you consider a legitimate question pertaining to what you said "picking apart" your post?

. . .
I saw this sign a few years ago on the wall at the Beau Rivage Player's Club. . . . I assume they put it there for the benefit of idiots who don't realize a casino is a business.

Phil, Are you calling the people you want to help idiots? You say you are helping them but they are still losing their money so how are they not depressed? Isn't it better to tell them (the idiots) to not gamble at a casino?

When someone writes a post in this forum, they then open themselves up for return question(s) on what was written. I asked Phil a legitimate question regarding what he wrote and he still has not answered the question. Phil has a habit of passing over many of the questions asked of him in his posts and he berry picks just those he answers.

If Phil feels that his posts are being picked apart by me (or others for that matter) he can do two things: 1 - make certain he posts something that cannot be "picked apart" or, 2 - stop posting in these forums.

In my opinion, this is the best question I have ever been asked on this forum. It gets right to the heart of why I am here and what I am attempting to accomplish.

I can see how someone who is not troubled by losing would think going to a casino with $50 bucks to spend is idiotic. I suspect Bob Dancer believes going to a casino for entertainment is foolish. Lots of people go to casinos for reasons other than making a profit. I am one of them. My friends and I have enough money to do most anything we want, that's not our problem. We want to have an enjoyable day away from the house, play the games, laugh together, perhaps we will eat lunch? What we don't want is to feel depressed when we walk out. No matter who you are, losing is part of the game of video poker. You must lose so you can win. This bothers some people more than others. I have lost a lot of sleep over this. I know others have as well. This can cause health problems. It can affect your quality of life, especially if you are retired like me.

There are millions of players like me. You see us whenever you go. Do you want us to play like an AP without the games, skills and stamina it takes to be one? I am trying to make this forum recognize we exist. Some members would like us to go away. If we did, the casino doors would shut forever. What I want is to help those players gets more for their money. If I can help someone lose less and play more, I think my time here is worthwhile.

There are two sides to video poker, the profit side and the entertainment side. I am trying to give both equal time.

Phil, I think the only thing you are attempting to accomplish is getting a permanent ban on posting here in these forums. After about 3,000 duplicate posts I think we all know that you, and according to you, players like you exist. But these other players do not have the same Bob Dancer fixation that you do. Edited to change Bob Dancer fixation to Bob Dancer OBSESSION.

In over 25 years, I have NEVER encountered one person that was at a casino for "entertainment." Not one person at all!

I agree. It wouldn't take very long to go through his recent posts to find several "if you don't like what I'm posting ban me" challenges.

I suppose if he succeeds in his quest to be banned again, he thinks it will make him some kind of VP martyr.

well then, let me introduce you to the first person you have met (online), that plays for entertainment...ME.

i know the math is against me on every game i play at the casino i go to. as a result, i know that long term, i cannot win. it is therefore, entertainment to me.

certainly, i hope the luck intercedes and i might win, but i know there is only so much of that. i still find the experience exciting, even though i know i am paying for that excitement. if i go to a ballgame, spend a couple of hundred with all the costs involved, what is the difference.
