My experience returning to a casino!

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

Yes, we were there Wednesday night. We probably will recognize your wife since we spend most of our time in the HLR as well!
They had every other machine turned off, which was dissappointing for us. We have 2 side-by-side favorite vp machines, so one of them was turned off. We asked about getting it turned on since we are shelter-buddies (!?) but were told that was impossible. Something about gaming control having turned off the machines and they could not change that. From what i've read about other casinos planned reopening, they're going to allow customers to select their favorite machines to be activated, and also if you are from the same household they will let you sit side-by-side. Not so at Horseshoe, at least not as of Wednesday.
We initially thought it was a good thing that it was so empty, we felt a little safer. But, it just didn't feel "right", like you said - same as so many other experiences right now like the grocery, or a restaurant....
She plays the triple double bubbloon machines in the back of the HLR across from the VP machines that line the back wall by windows. Our friends that were there this past weekend sent her a pic and two of those machines she likes are open so she was happy to hear that. Do you and your wife play the single line VP machines that have the $5000 royal or $25,000 if you have them set to $5? If so those are almost directly across from where she plays.

We like to play the multi-game machines (ultimate x, super times pay, etc.), so from the windows they're the 3rd and 4th machines. My husband also likes the single line machines (5th & 6th machines) so he had to play there the other night and i played the (1) multi-game machine that was active. I know exactly which machines you're talking about!

Our friends from California like those UX machines. He has has several handpays on them. Some people are just luckier than others and he is just plain lucky. I think he was playing at the 50 cent level and holding one ace pulled the other 3 aces plus the kicker with a 12x multiplier on one of those machines. Him or his wife seem to always do good if they can get on one of those two machines.

You have us motivated to want to go over there so we are planning mid June Tues Wed trip. We can both double dip on the comps and they have the 5x tier credit multiplier going. Maybe by then they will have one of the other restaurants open.

Did they try to kick-start things with incentives to go. Free play and other comps or are they just slipping in slowly to see what goes?

Soft opener herein MI., for invitation only, am going on Sunday. They mentioned several incentives but no specifics.
Might see a slow start as mentioned above. Will see.
At least NO SMOKING!

Pretty good incentive from Mohegan Sun. Have been receiving updated emails all day. 300 in free play offered spread out over the month of June. At least double of normal amount. Invite for us this Sunday as well Guess we will go being that they decided last minute to ban smoking indoors. The Gov of Ct is after them to ban alcohol too for now. His thinking is that it could cause bad behavoir and spread the virus. So far, both Ct casinos haven’t responded about that. At least for now, the Ct casinos have a monopoly since the surrounding states haven’t opened their casinos yet.

regarding casino payouts or holds, while reopening.

most casinos will be limiting patrons to less than 50%. at least 50% of machines will be shut down. most casinos will have increased costs due to new virus safeguards. with smaller crowds, likely less overall revenue. less revenue, more expenses, what are the chances they loosen up the machines? i/m/o, not much.

We got a free room, and both got some free play.
Las Vegas opens this Monday, it's going to be interesting to see how that goes. We're getting lots of offers from the Caesars properties there, but i can't imagine going to Vegas right now?!?!

Our casino had a soft 3 day open. VIP invite only. I went today day 2 at 7am. More workers then players. They gave very generous free play to bring us back. Spread out over the next 5 weeks I am at $2,400 in free play between 2 casinos. That is a big help to play.

Most food closed for now. No promos other then free play. Full open is Monday to the public. I guess it's the new norm for a while.
