My experience returning to a casino!

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

We got a free room, and both got some free play.
Las Vegas opens this Monday, it's going to be interesting to see how that goes. We're getting lots of offers from the Caesars properties there, but i can't imagine going to Vegas right now?!?!
Did i say Monday?!?! I meant Thursday. These days i can't keep straight what day it is?!?!

Thank you for the information. We are planning to drive to Las Vegas next week. I hope it is as safe as your trip.

Just back from an invite pre opening at Mohegan Sun. First class job. Similar to what Notes wrote from his trip back to a casino. Had a good time. Loved the small crowds. Spotless inside and no smoke. Our lounge was open. No buffet thank goodness. Alcohol served though we didn’t have any. No rooms yet till tomorrow when they open to the public. Still had 9/6 job quarters. Did ok played small. If it stayed like this, I would go every other day.

Hope things stay that way for you Olds but I wouldn't count on it I would give no smoking a possible continuance but small crowds and spotlessness probably not over time. What do you think?

enjoy yourself as you watch life pass you by, while waiting for that perfect scenario, that may never occur.

I am just providing my thoughts on what may happen down the line at Mohegan Sun, nothing more, nothing less. Just curious as to how he envisions things playing out there. No idea how that relates to your comment on life passing by.

My spouse and I have used this time away from casinos to decide that our health is more important. So, until our home casino does something about their SEVERE smoking problem, we're not going back. After two months with no casino action whatsoever, we're just fine and, thankfully, we have discovered that we don't need it as badly as we thought. Sometimes you need distance to gain perspective.

Great thing about the CT casinos is that they are in the middle of the "country" and are relatively safe.

I guess right now, the country has a lot more to worry about and deal with than casinos. The terrorists and that is what they really are are tearing our cities up and apart. Unfortunately, they cannot be reasoned with and an iron fist is the only way to deal with looters, burners, and attempted murderers. Interstate 95 just 5 miles from my house was shut down yesterday by protestors. We actually delayed our trip back from the casino until things were sort of under control. Now we are probably going to face new outbreaks of the virus due to their complete disregard for human life and decency. I was able to talk yesterday to the wife of the head of player development who we have known for about 20 years and she actually thinks what I wrote to our governor had impact on the casinos last minute decision to ban smoking for now. In fact she encouraged me to continue to interact with the officials at Mohegan about the future and their smoking policy. I will suggest to them and she will also that a separate indoor building with its own air supply be provided for them, but not in gaming areas. Guess we will see how it goes. The chances are slim that smoking will be banned from property forever.

as one who has gone to casinos for nearly 15 years, an ex smoker and has gone recently under new mandates, i can attest that for those who want to avoid smoke, there has never been a better time to go.

-far fewer people
-equals far fewer smokers
-everyone wearing a mask
-pain in the ass to keep removing mask to smoke or drink, so folks do less of each.
-at least 6 feet between machines. that means a 3 machine row, no one else.

now, if folks are just plain afraid of going, or it is not the same, that is another story.
