Sad to hear so many of you aren't Facebook members. Just so you know even sites such as Videopoker.com, Gambling With An Edge, and all the casinos have Facebook pages. Facebook contains a wealth of current event information available with links and pages for almost any interest you may have: sports, news, fashion, intermediate basket weaving, it's all there. And this is in no means a solicitation of Facebook, just facts.

Facebook is all of that. And it also has many bots collecting and storing information from everybody who posts there. they sell that information to people trying to sell you stuff, or convince you of stuff. If you value your privacy at all, stay off of Facebook

Solid endorsement Bob. Gee, thanks! In all seriousness though, it's up to the user how much of that they'll allow. You can set your privacy settings where there is minimal bot info harvesting. I've been a Facebook user for over 10 years and have my privacy settings to allow full access to everyone and I've never had any issues.

Add me to the list of non-Facebookers. Not just that it is a mindless mess of trivial gossip, but also that Facebook, Twitter, and a few other perhaps well-intentioned enterprises have ruined legitimate, honest news media. The internet has created a nation (no, a world!) that is not interested in factual information but instead feeds on rumor, falsehood, innuendo, and gossip.

Totally agree. The young generation gets their "news" from these sources

So, are you saying the main street media is a reliable source of accurate news reporting?

No, the opposite. The kids are getting their news from social media which is all fake news.
