Governor Sissylack here mandated everyone wear masks in public as of yesterday. He specifically named casinos as included in that mandate; however, he excluded law enforcement agencies as to whether they wear masks, leaving it at their discretion. Okee dokee.

Out yesterday, using up free play at 3 different casinos. Social distancing, mask policy, enforcement . . a huge joke.
At Cosmo, no one monitoring masks, no signage on the floor as to where to get a mask if you don't have one. This was allegedly required in the Sissylack mandate.
At the D/Golden Gate: one big yuck. I have no idea how I got free play ($200), not recalling having played there in years. Definitely won't be returning EVER. Stinky and filled with smoke, the demographics are cigar smoking ghetto. Done.
At the M, every single machine is now turned on, even in banks of three where the middle machine had been turned off last week. Spoke with a floor supervisor, who informed us that "the higher-ups" decided to turn every single machine on . . . calling it a "loophole." HUH?
There was a security guard at the front parking lot entrance, presumably for masks checks. Too bad, once inside, most people didn't care, masks were off. Usual nasty smokers, too.

No surprise that the Culinary Union announced today it is suing "major" Strip casinos, alleging they have not adequately protected workers from the virus.

good info!

i/m/o, and not just for vegas but any location, all casinos, bars, restaurants will regret the day they relaxed their virus protection protocols, for short term business. all businesses;
-that serve booze where patrons have lowered inhibitions
-cater to a younger crowd that believe they are invincible
-that allow people to gather in close proximity....

....are just asking for trouble, until this chinese virus is solved. florida was doing quite well until the bars and restaurants opened, then the cases began to rise. and, the rise is largely among those under age 40.

i do give credit, so far, to our local casino, that has continued to keep closed more than half the machines, take everyone's temp when they enter, mandate masks (which they provide) and have cleaning crews constantly cleaning play areas.

So far, Wynn is the only casino in Vegas at which we feel comfortable; they not only have health/safety protocol in place, but they are actually enforcing those rules.

About the only sensible statement made by our governor: people are classifying mask wearing as a political issue, not a health/safety issue.

It will be interesting to follow the Culinary Union lawsuit that is allegedly being filed next week against major Strip casinos, citing hazardous working conditions for its workers.

It's not enough to ban smoking at table games . . . stepping away from the table to smoke is useless.
Governor Sissylack needs to step up and push for a total smoking ban in all indoor spaces

Rampart and Suncoast will take your temp and give you a mask when entering. Both are enforcing the mask directive. Masks will break sooner or later from removing/adjusting, and putting them back on. Masks are... made in China. I play a lot of 10 play 9/6 DDB and 8/5 BP at both, and after reopening June 4, it seems impossible to hit 4 aces or above at both places, even after hours and hours of playing. Quads seem to be about every 3000 hands or so, and will most always be 4- 5 thru K's. I might hit 4- 2,3,4 with a kicker, but only one during a 7 or 8 hour session. Most, if not all major hotels here in LV, strip or off strip, VP machines are also hooked up to a central server. Updates are injected through those servers. My suspicions are very high at this point as all casinos are trying to recover lost revenue from being shut down. The only place I have done well believe it or not is the Riverside in Laughlin playing QQ. All of my sessions here in LV have been losing sessions since the reopening. :x

They need to audit all of the the damn centralized control servers while they're at it! :x

For those who play table games, Orleans now also has an area with no smoking allowed while playing.

Other than the pre opening day I was at Mogegan Sun, the vp machines have all been ice cold since 6/1. I have made 8 trips so far and have gone thru 3,000 playing strictly 99 percent games. Let’s see.....About 35,000 hands total, x 1.25 is Eve43,750 bucks. So 3,000 bucks lost is a loss of just under 7 percent.

As I posted in Favorite Casinos, the three Gila River Casinos in metro Phoenix are reopening again, this time with stringent safety measures including no smoking on the casino floor, mandatory masks, social distancing, and down time for sanitizing. They learned their lesson by originally reopening with a more laissez faire approach.

I was actually at Suncoast for a few days a couple weeks ago, and my VP was overall literally break-even. I actually hit quad 3s with kicker and quad 4s with kicker on TDB in limited play. But I lost a lot at Triple Bonus Poker Plus. Overall like I said, literally $0 win/loss at the end. I didn't notice machines behaving any different than normal. I did find it strange though that in my many hours of playing TBPP that I never got quad 2s. I hit every other quad but never quad 2s.
