Casinos trying to make up for Covid on our dime

... The Covons are too lazy to walk a bit and their waistlines show it. What is the saying about taking a horse to water?......wonder if the young set knows that one. However, seems like the 40 something and 50 something crowd are acting the same way. PS same casino story with pool and gatherers.
Hahaha. Now that Vegas visitors are a low-end (ghetto) clientele, the new normal is to see these twenty -somethings renting and using mobility scooters, the type meant for truly disabled folks. We all notice them now, groups of drunk ghetto yobs racing Rascals thru the casino. Unbelievable

You took the words out of my mouth. Mohegan Sun is loaded with the quote NEW clientele. What did they offer them to get them there? I would love to know. Well at least no more 600 buck fed money for now to throw away. Feel bad for people that really need it, but not 600. Too much

In this area, it more of a question of their income and with how much wealth they were raised up. Drive through some of the new upper end (not high upper end $750K-1.5M) subdivisions and you'll see a huge number of 20's-30's with the BMW. Land Rover. Mercedes, Lexus in the driveway of a a $300-500K house. With the petroleum, medical and business/banking sectors in Houston lots of are making 6 figure salaries in their mid-late 20's. With both working they can easily make enough and have expendable money to use for entertainment. The GNLC is the new Vegas quality location for the upper crust of Houston/Southeast Texas/La. Two hours away and the best facilities for social gathering to be seen and to see the top social climbers. Our daughter who plays in the high limit slots told us recently of a group at the craps table who were playing $500 roll. Most were in their late 20's-early 30"s. Granddaughter and SIL told the story this weekend of a couple arguing over money. She'd won $15K and he was gripping because she would only bankroll him $1,500 for the rest of the night. Smart girl.

What LL describes in his post is not the clientele in Vegas right now, who are driving in from CA lockdown.

THIS clientele here are in their 20"s and are definitely using their U/I to visit.
How do I know? Here:

(1) friends/neighbors who are employed at the big Strip properties and are compelled to interact with these fine, upstanding "guests." They need an Ebonics translator.
(2) Personally seeing the "matching luggage" these people are bringing for their stay. If it's not Walmart bags, it is pillowcases. I had no idea people traveled with clothes stuffed in pillowcases.
(3) This week, perfect example: listening to a group of six "guests" discussing the amount of cash they pooled, and how much pot that would buy. (being a rube myself on this topic, I was shocked to hear that $250 might get you an ounce plus some "cookies" at one dispensary). Alas, couldn't afford belts for pants
(4) Photos posted on two different Vegas bloggers' sites verifying what I've personally seen.
(5) Jay Snowden (CEO of Penn Gaming - - M casino) discussing the "new" clientele coming to Vegas.

Without conventioneers , shows, and "high end" tourists, Vegas is in for some tough times ahead.

I don't know how to post photos on this forum, or I'd share some hilarious ones of our "New" clientele.

Waiting for the NFR to cancel their huge December event, as they are the last ones standing in the next 6 months.

Meanwhile, what the "New" clientele doesn't kill in the Vegas economy, the Dumbocrats are taking care of the rest of it.

Doug, I posted a thread on how to that. Believe me I am a dinosaur with this stuff, but I figured out how to to it on an I phone. I think it was within the last 2 weeks. It was part of another thread. Hope you can find it.

I was in the lounge today having a nice lunch and two of the servers who have been there 20 years or more came up to thank me. Of course I said you are welcome but what did I do. Their answer was something like just being you meaning polite, clear about my order, not demanding or feeling like I am entitled to something, and not leaving a huge mess on my table. They said to pass it on to the Mrs. too and their words meant a lot to me. The reason they were kind of crying on my shoulder is the borrowing from Doug quote New clientele have been treating them the exact opposite and they are about ready to pack it in and retire, but really don’t want to. One server is a man and the other a lady.

Let's try to keep political comments to the Anything and Everything forum, please. Even if they are a quick afterthought, it invites further political replies. Thanks.

So Olds, a couple of more pictures for you from the GNLC.

We've had the privilege of staying in the ground floor "Lofts". Two story one bedroom with hot tub, dining area and gated entrance to the pool.
