Wild Swings on Joker Kings also

Post by olds442jetaway »

I have been playing quite a bit of Joker Kings lately the 17/7/940 variety. I have noticed I may get 5 quads in 5 or 10 minutes as well as straight flushes close together, than nothing good for hours. While this may not matter if you are playing for 8-12 hours straight as much, it is very tough on the Martingale Clone method I use and a bankroll buster if you are in a bad cycle. I find it works best on either regular deuces wild, or on bonus deuces wild if you play 3 lines. It is terrible on JOB on quadless sessions without Royals either. At least on the deuces wild games, there are several types of good paying hands I can get and do ok even without a Royal. I haven’t checked the variance on Joker Kings, but I know it has to be worse than either JOB or regular Deuces wild

That is a 98.44% game. You surrender 1.1% return vs. bread and butter JOB. Of course, for you that’s been a starvation game anyway.

OLDS I don't play any Joker, but I do play a ton of JOB. The play is just as you described in JOB as well. Today I played 840 hands to play off free play all on JOB. I hit 4 four of a kinds, and lost 12 bucks in the end. Only 2 full houses in 840 hands. The poker has been feast or famine. If I don't hit royals early in the cycle I would have to shut down play as the games eat bankroll at an alarming clip.

I then went to my other casino for some play. A few weeks ago they reprogrammed the Bar #2 I play. How I know this is the back ground screen was blue all the way across and now there is a strip of black on each side. Today 4 of a kinds as has been the rule for weeks very rare. Yet a dealt SF and for the first time in months 4 deuces came in.

It's hard to understand, I have been playing 50,000 to 80,000 hands a month and I have no problem with royals, it's between royals that is a big problem for me.

The first 6 days of Dec up $5300 with 2 royals @ 4k each, next 6 days down $4200, as you can see without the royals would be a nightmare.

Yes, JOB FH feels like pulling teeth for some reason. I have also been lucky enough to be over 4OAKed recently. I can’t even imagine my TRs otherwise. At constant denomination, we have to get quads at double the expected frequency just to break even! Mother of all grinds.

Last trip before the big storm. Heading home now. Stuck with joker kings all night. As you can see from the pictures it wasn’t too bad at all. Ended up about 200 bucks and that is without a royal other than the wild royal and no 5 of a

kind. The straight flushes and the one Wild royal kept me hanging in there. The bets got awfully high as you can see from the one big straight flush hit

FAA.... I know it goes against the rules, but I am willing to give up the little bit over 1% to hit some of the medium size hands on Joker and regular deuces wild. Some of my jacks or better sessions which I’ve gone almost Quadless, have returned only 75% of coin in. If I’m not mistaken BD wrote about such a session with a 75% return on Jack’s or a better year or so ago. I just can’t handle that. If I was hitting the quads like you are lately I would play jacks are better, But I haven’t been able to hit them on schedule in months.

Results infer perspective. My bread and butter is your arsenic. Jacks Are Better felt like a Freudian slip. Its acronym, JAB, is what the game does to you. The casino still wants you playing JK and worse 100% of the time. They’ll emerge victorious. I’ve slowly identified a situational window where I seem to hold my own and even conquer on the JOB/BP side of the street. Neither of us is hitting the curb for now.

That part is good. I reluctantly got snow tires on Monday for my Elantra. Don’t want to hit any curbs with that either.

Excellent investment. I am more and more willing to concede .37% pay back for BP’s lucrative hands. We’re accepting more risk for more reward.
