Spectacular Saturday. I deferred FP and tried dollar BP. I was soon -$150 and reeling. I came back and drew a pair of Aces. I was dealt two more for $800! Cue party! I then played the $25 FP. It only yielded $14 on quarter JOB. Progressive only $1,022, so I short coined on some play. My old pal Straight Flush came by! Always a pleasure to chat, but I hadn’t set the table for him. I then lost my $25 table FP on a twelve craps boxcar bust. But I left with a $1,200 check. Lunch at RS. I hit the road, being cash poor. Net Day: +$739. 46 TCs.

Congratulations on your windfall. Were you getting strange looks at the cage when you asked for a check?

I just had an image pop into my head: you going to the cashiers cage to ask for a check reminds me of that cargo ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal, blocking everything up behind it.

The cashier was ebullient. “A check! That’s smart! Don’t carry around that money.” I replied, “Always.” I had to move to a previously closed end window while the suits scurried on my behalf. Noon is the calm before the storm. I thought that I could stay even long enough for a $250 quad. That was correct. Staying alive with 8/5!

Off to the races. Prefer them to faces. I so love my Aces. It’s a banner day when a Straight Flush is just a trip footnote. Quad took a bit longer than I estimated to appear. Twenty minutes, not ten. So I lost $100 on that end, using this entitlement logic. But I was certainly amply compensated for the anxious wait time.

FAA, I'm having problems with math today.

If you were quickly down $150.00 and then hit aces for $800.00 this would put you up $650.00. You then yielded $14.00 from your $25.00 FP you got from the bus and this would make you up $664.00 at this point. After short coining you hit a straight flush for $37.50, now you are up $701.50. I'm guessing that you played for a few more minutes after hitting the straight flush so I'm going out on a limb and saying that you lost $25.00 so this would put you up $676.50 for the bus trip. You then get a check from the cashiers cage for $1,200.00.

The $1,200.00 check is from your $676.50 winnings and the balance of $523.50 came from your own funds.

You mention that you don't carry around "that money" but yet you had at least $500.00 in your pocket anyway?

And instead of getting a check from the casino how about going to the nearest ATM and depositing the cash that you dread carrying around?

I apologize for not using words like ebullient in my post, those are above my Sunday morning budget.

Too add: FAA, in your quest for a $4,000.00 hand pay you are moving up in denominations that you really shouldn't be playing at. When you did hit the aces you only had $30.00 left on the meter so you were 3 hands from not hitting them unless of course you started short coining the balance of the $30.00. This would have resulted in another negative day. You have champagne dreams on a Blatz budget.

Stop being so envious of some of the hits being posted here and play in a denomination comfort zone where you can afford to always play max coin.

Just my opinion.

Speaking of aces, drew the Ace of spades for the "steel wheel" about 10 minutes before drawing the Ace of diamonds for this one.
