i called an attendant and told them about it and they got someone to clean it up but where was the "eye in the sky"?didn't they see this and if they did why didn't they report it?so,this is why i question if they are really wiping down the machines.
I'm no expert, but that would seem difficult for surveillance to detect in progress. Staffing is probably only a couple people, viewing overhead images with no sound. (Hopefully they have recording so they can look back after they're notified.) Slots would be one of the lowest-priority areas for monitoring. They have to watch the table games as well as back of the house areas to detect employee shenanigans.

They are wiping down the machines, but can't assure that every machine will be pristine when you sit down for play. In Vegas, Boyd has one of the most comprehensive precautionary programs, including mandatory temperature monitoring at all entrances. "Boyd Clean" guidelines:

You can click through for details, but basically they're only assuring enhanced attentiveness to cleaning.

stephmo,
Sweet C and I have been very cautious in our limited trips to the casino. We are both 65+ and have co-morbidities. We only make a non-weekend trip (reduced crowds), open the balcony windows when we arrive to air out the room, use spray to clean the most likely areas-TV remote, door knobs, etc. When we go to the restaurants to eat we request an outside seating area on the main walkway vs inside the restaurant. I grab extra cocktail napkins for our placement off the table for our phones, masks, etc. We keep our masks on until we eat and put them back on immediately upon completion. I hold my glass to have it refilled instead of passing to a waiter who is touching multiple items all the time. On the casino floor they require temperature checks and masks (probably 90% compliance and less at the tables). Since we only play VP were good- the machines next to the main entrance with every other machine closed for social distancing. The casino has multiple stations with sanitizing wipes and sanitizer dispensers. We always take a new wipe and wipe the entire machine screen, the buttons (watch the "Help" button) and the seats or areas we may touch. We also each carry a travel size bottle of alcohol to clean or spray anything else we want including the button sometimes. Each evening after play, we take our masks and spray them with alcohol and hang them to dry overnight. If I'm wearing an N95, I spray the inside of the ziplock bag with alcohol and insert the mask. I've labeled masks and zip locks "A", "B", etc and wear one from a different bag each day. This allows them to dry for several days before I begin the sequence again. Most of the time i wear a multiple layer cloth mask that is tight fitting. Oh and wash and sanitize frequently. At this point, due to the huge spike, we'd love to go but can't afford the risk, so were on a hiatus for as long as we can hold out or until we have both been vaccinated for a couple of months. Then we will still take precautions. Good luck, take only calculated risks, and err on the side of safety for yourself and your loved ones.

BR is correct. I have been in the eye in the sky security terminal area myself to help them catch the scumbag that was praying on seniors. He tred it with me and of course it didn’t work. I followed him for awhile and when I was sure 100 percent of what was going on, they let me in their area to view the tapes with their security people and explain how he was doing it. Anyway they got him and led him away in cuffs. I posted about this some years ago.

Casinos attract the dregs of society. Let's face it. Plenty of space for them to loiter and prowl in. Free drinks. Marks spaced out by the delusional fantasy of winning large sums. It's a lethal combination.

LL has quite the stream of conscience. It's like he thinks he's James Joyce. Paragraphs, professor.

That one goes way back even before our time. Just a side note. Way back, Walt Disney heard about a locally famous artist with trenendous talent. He made his way to the town where the locally famous artist lived. It happened to be my Grandfather on my dad’s side. Walt Disney offered him a job on the spot, but my Grandfather did not want to leave the family. I only got to meet my Grandfather a few times when I was young. Sadly, he passed away in his early 50s, but we still have some of his work in the family. Making a short trip tonite at off peak hours. Hopefully, all protocols will be as good as my last trip and their UV air filtration system will be on. No overnight. Hope to hit and run being as careful as possible.

That was a brutal decision. Family or career.

I have been going to Borgata since they reopened last July. I am 69 years old, don't have any underlying conditions and feel safe. In general they are doing a good job. Temperature checks, handwashing stations, hand sanitizer, every other machine turned off etc. I still bring my own anti-bacterial wipes and wipe my machine down before playing. I do understand why people are still cautious though. An individual decision. I would probably feel different if I had existing health issues.
