Roulette is usually packed where I play. I kinda look at the crowd. I don’t want to really say no intellect, but definitely dominated by people who have no idea about the math and just bet things like hunches or birthdays. Some of the bets are huge too. If instead of running 20,000 through a vp machine, I played roulette, I would be leaving long term every session 1,052 on the table or 5.26 percent. Yikes!

We got a good thing going! Just hit deal!

i think this game is worst than roulette

That's probably close to a 4.5% house edge because splitting and doubling are worth almost 2% combined, according to Wizard.

It's an unsatisfying game for me because I can't find an angle of attack to improve my return, other than finding a single zero wheel. You just have to accept your 5.26% punishment. If I did play, I guess I would try to improve my comps by slowing the game down and betting big only when the clipboard person comes around.

There used to be an electronic single 0 game at Foxwoods, but I haven’t been there since Covid. I played it once at the dollar level to try and get a few bucks for tipping the waitresses. It worked that one time. Still a bad bet.

Craps is just as exciting with the dice tumbling down as your cash rests on the outcome. Pass, Don't Pass. You won't get rich, but you won't burn much bankroll either.

Those machines are sometimes attractive to people who want to eliminate downside risk. An example might be someone who really, really craves Seven Stars status. Not sure of my math, but you could bet 37 coins divided 18-18-1, guaranteeing a precise 2.7% loss every spin. However, many such machines earn points either slowly or not at all.

Yep, those bets are good money stretchers because they may require several rolls to resolve. Some Vegas casinos tempt players with big odds bet allowances. Cromwell is 100x, others 10x. I think Bally's AC offered 100x odds many years ago.

Before I retired, I was a regular craps player. Used to get 10x odds. Was fun until the smokers especially cigars, drunks, and waitresses would show up in the middle of a hot roll. I also think the casino paid people to try and squeeze in next to a hot shooter. Can’t prove it though. One time the guy 2 over from me was on a 20 minute roll. Some idiot tried to squeeze in and bumped the shooter just as the dice left his hand. Of course he 7nd out. The guy on the other side of the shooter had over 3,000 on the table and promptly decked the idiot. Of course he was ejected and probably arrested, but I am glad he decked him good.

Covid plexiglass is such a luxury. Actual personal space with six players per table. My RF has emboldened me to want to spend more time in casinos on future trips. But you stay, you pay. A poor craps session would preempt any further VP as well. Lots of entertainment decisions. VP has the smallest house edge of them all. Sticking with what the math suggests bests recreation.

I rarely play table games anymore. Blackjack can be beaten, but I find it stressful. Same for live poker.

I consider video poker to be only minimally demanding because you're allowed to look at a strategy chart as often as you want, and there's no time limit to play a hand. It's nevertheless a fast enough game that you can rack up meaningful slot club rewards for small individual wager amounts.

I hit up the slot club for a whopping $0.89 on my last trip. But thanks for the $750 RF!
