They are too high FAA. Back to quarters next trip. Guaranteed bankroll buster unless a big hit comes along. Even a short dud streak can chew up 2 grand in notime

You can cruise comfortably quarter style through Christmas. But I like how you can simply power up and win. Machines take a good long time to make magic. A bit startled that my quarter RF came as early as it did.

I deposited the 1,000 quarters. I actually felt I was going to be dealt deuces so decided to risk 100 at max bet and if I lost, replace it and play JOB. Think I will go watch a movie.

It's Quad Father's world. We just live in it. As we greet November, time for a throw back to handsome hand pay of $1,250.

Unfortunately, I am now way behind for the year I should have paid attention to the title of this thread. I quit counting how many times I have lost without a winner. I have been ahead A little bit almost every trip but do not quit. Have never been ahead over 1000 bucks like earlier this year quite a few times.

olds- if you should have such luck that you find yourself up 1000 say before T-day, would you have the discipline to stop until the EOY to ensure a winning year for the first time EVER?

Or if you are up ten bucks with 2 hours to go to midnight 12/31, would you?

Or does it not really matter to you?

Good luck.

The big problem is the enjoyment of playing a game that almost everyone cannot stay ahead on long term due to negative EV. When I am ahead a grand or more, or even 500-800, the most I will give back almost always is 100 or so as I will always switch to a lower denomination game. The problem in the last few months has been the inability to hit Royals, or quad Deuces, or 5 of a kind on Joker Kings with normal frequency. Without those hits, over the course of a session you will rapidly slip into a big negative hole. Hitting a bunch of small stuff in the first hour or so of play putting one ahead, just reinforces the desire to keep playing. Even on JOB, a quadless session will leave a huge hole in bankroll. Last Friday, my Mrs went quadless in 9 hours of play in a combination of JOB and DDB. Extremely frustrating to say the least and expensive even for nickel and quarter play.
To answer the question in the above post, probably not. It does matter to me however and thinking long term you can beat the casino with various techniques makes it even more difficult.

Yet Bob Dancer's first line in his lengthy reply was, "Why would you quit?" Because a five figure hit is too rare for civilians. $11,000 in big hits that day. I'd fling my player card into the Atlantic. If summer, I'd also fling myself. Yet here you are with regret and recrimination over continuing to patronize MS. They promote all seven deadly sins. We sink further into their clutches the longer we stay. Casinos are best in one hour sessions. Hours two and three always make my day negative. That first hour I am a world beater. I crash down to earth later. The smart technique you employ is lowering denom after +$500. I foolishly keep the denom even after +$100, which soon gets squandered, followed by a parade of hundreds. Two hours later, a quad may refund half of them. It won't get better and will usually end in your demise. Know when to fold. Switch machines hourly at least. It sounds irrational. Cycles actually do exist. Cold ones are at least triple the length of hot ones. I'll never forget the Caesars slot hopper who hit HL jackpots on most of a row armed with a fistful of hundreds.

I remember hitting quad deuces on a bank of 4 machines at Foxwoods about 5 years ago. 4 hits in less than 15 minutes. Would never have happened unless I switched machines
