what are the odds?
how many tries?
i imagine its in the world of a lottery probable chances to win that much off a 15$ fp
i was always a big believer in negative progressions or positive progressions whatever funnels you to a higher limit, i missed my boat where i had a cluster of royals come to me wish now had i used a positive progression would have made a bigger win, but still hold out hope maybe i will hit a few royals next outting

YouDrool: Where grinders and dreamers live vicariously through gutsy high rollers. Three RFs in a day, capped by the incredible six figure hit. We shrug and move on.

Believe it or not. About 10 years ago, a fellow vp player who I think may be gone now had 4 Royals in one day at Mohegan Sun. I mean in a 24 hour period. I saw 2of them hit myself

i like the idea of betting high limit i mean Bob Dancer wouldn't be Bob Dancer had he stuck w/ quarter bets but again he had everything mapped out and cataloged to go fire off his bets to assure him to victory
the gentleman won 100k just parlayed his winnings i do really wonder how many tries tho maybe equal to the amount he won or if he just got lucky early on..

It was his day. He had a combination of grizzled stubborn determination and astounding luck. And look, at that point n his day and life overall, he figures that he could burn some of that “found money.”

I am not disagreeing except that it has to be money you can afford to lose. VP is totally unpredictable. Personally, I am quite happy playing quarters. I never hope to get rich from VP. I hope long term I can stay somewhere close to even. At this point, I have virtually no chance of that looking back 25 years. If I had all of that lost money now, compounded with average stock market returns, it would be in the millions.

That is a cautionary tale if there ever was one. Maybe have one blow out, devil may care trip every six weeks and lock it down on quarter play the rest of the time. My goal is also to stay close to even. We’re not foolhardy enough to think that we’ll take casino to the cleaners. But we sure as hell take pains to avoid getting cleaned out.

I get a kick out of his disclaimer about how he doesn't always follow optimal strategies and that he has the money to afford these high limit games. That is a lousy excuse. Would this same guy go shopping and insist on paying $100 for something that costs $92?

I just did the math on where I may have been without VP for the last 25 years. I don’t regret anything except the lack of discipline, but there is where I could have been today.
Losing 10,000 a year for 25 years comounded at average stock market returns of ten percent would translate to a loss of 1.3 million bucks. Some of my years were less but many especially the last ten years or so were much more than a 10,000 annual loss. Anyway, as they say, life is about choices. Keeping one’s health is still number one.
