Sometimes time can be your friend

Most people know by now I tend to play marathon sessions. It is not really my choice to do this all of the time although I do enjoy video poker a lot, but I find that many times late in the session makes the difference between a winning and losing session. Mostly I play deuces wild with a 98.91 return table. Quad deuces come along in the long run every 5348 hands with perfect play. What I try to do and it is working very well so far for 2021 is keep track of my bets and see on the next hand if quad deuces happens to hit if I will be up or down for the session. I still think I am playing too aggressively and I’m trying to control that. The nice surprise is the royal will come along every nine or 10 sessions in the long run and many times I will have more than 5 quarters bet. Sometimes even after eight hours of play at 700 hands per hour which would be 5600 hands in round numbers, the quad deuces do not hit. I just make a note of that and begin my following session on the next trip at a betting number where if the quad deuces hit, I will not be behind for the prior session and this one. I don’t find this method of playing to work very well with a highly volatile game like double double bonus or joker kings. It seems like on those games you either get a really good return for the session or a really bad negative return due to the variance. I don’t know how long this method of playing will keep working and also how long I will be able to keep up this pace. I am no spring chicken by any means going on 73, but I do take breaks and stretches and try to stay hydrated. The biggest problem with that is there are so few nearly full pay machines left in the casino where I play. This is due to Covid or choice of the casino to get rid of them. Anyway just thought I would throw it out there. I realize a lot of people are not going to play like this because they don’t have the time or take the time for these marathon sessions. It is still relatively early in the year yet and I guess we will see what happens by year end. I have been rewarded quite handsomely so far this year. I still need to slow it down and avoid those budget busting sessions as much as possible.

Time is my enemy, as I only play two hours maximum on a machine. But I should just leave after an hour. I’ll order a beer next time at the outset to ensure that I leave in an hour’s time. They’re like hourglass. I had a two hour ice cold HL session last week which busted me. I’ll be picking a more prominent machine closer to the cages next time. Again surrounded by hand pays made it even more depressing. That machine killed me before, and I would guarantee rinse repeat every time now. Cold team member for my particular trip window.

Another marathon, but taking my time and easing the clone up slowly ad I was losing. I was hoping for the quad deuces. Certainly didn’t expect this.

Better than Quad deuces. I am sure the State of Connecticut concurs. Congrats.

Unfortunately, I have found that over the years marathon sessions are almost always needed to hit regular jackpots. That’s because they only come along every 40,000 to every almost 700,000 hands depending on the game.
