7/5 DDB UX proper play...

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

7/5 DDB UX proper play...

Post by Jstark »

I don't usually play Ultimate X straight up but will once in a blue moon. Playing this shitty 7/5 DDB game I was dealt AAA33 with a full load of 4x's. I held the full house here to get the next load of 12x's. On the subsequent hand, I just played off the multiplier and was fortunate enough to be dealt 2 pair and make one FH. Since I'm not a regular 10 credit per line hand, was this correct?

I don't want to attempt the math, but I would almost guarantee you should have tossed the pair. The full house was shorted to 7, and you had big current multipliers which should tend to push you toward conventional strategy rather than optimizing next-hand multipliers.

Yeah, that's where I was hung up and decided to just play it safe. Had they been the big multiplier, I definitely would've dumped the 3's.

This is the "basic strategy" play where the average multiplier is 2X. (Full House is 25.0000)

It's a break at 8/5 DDB too with only a 2X average multiplier on board.

And this is when you have a 3.9X average multiplier. (Full House is 38.3) So it's a pretty sizeable error here.

Well considering how often I play this garbage game straight up, I'll live with the results.

P.S. you need to pick up those MyVegas notifications. ;)
