Trip cancelled. Got a low tire warning just before leaving. Couldn’t see the problem, but the tire which is almost new was a few pounds low. Most likely a nail. Will have to deal with it tomorrow. Maybe I saved a few hundred bucks. Who knows. Heeeeee.

So did you “nail” your informal diagnosis? Beats getting nailed at old MS!

Got up at 6 am to run over to w mart. Turns out a minor rim leak. No charge cause they didn’t seal or clean the rim properly when th new tires were put on.
Got this last nite early on not enough to avoid another losing session a 16,000 to one shot

The straight flush does not pay very well in relation to its difficulty.

That game needs progressives. They could do a 3-way on the top 3 outcomes, all of which are into the 6 figures on their hit cycles.

Does Mohegan have any playable progressives? I don't see anything mentioned on vpfree2.

I think they do, but I never play them because their regular paytables not counting the progressive portion are not good.
As to this game and the straight flush, they also pay terrible for that hand on JOB, DDB etc. I guess if they paid better, they would have to lower more common hands to get the same hold for the casino.

They may have been trying to stay below a particular volatility threshold. Stud odds are very different from draw, so they couldn't simply mimic the existing draw games.

Did you know ... on the Double Down Stud menu, Joker Poker has the highest variance. Total is 80.65.

DDB is next at 74.82. And the others are down mostly around 50, with the lowest being Sixes (JoB) at 34.99. Those are using the Wizard of Odds pay schedules in the analyzer.

Note of course that variance does not exactly equal volatility. I would explain why, but I don't understand it. :geek:

Given your system, your SF was way too early. $50 does not go far on quarter play beyond the JOB level. I guess the only thing leaking was your BR! Wasting a premium hand is the danger of starting low and slow. Ask me how I know.

The SF pays too little topic is the deadest of dead horses. Let it RIP. As Olds notes, the hold percentage is sacrosanct for the house, which always wins.

I guess you won't be pre-ordering my upcoming coffee-table book containing high-resolution photos of straight flush near-misses.

If you are want a video poker game that rewards a straight flush a little better than most of the others, try looking for the All American/USA poker game that pays 1000 credits for a straight flush. Unfortunately, the full pay (100.72%) version is virtually extinct, but there are some lesser, not too bad,(99.68% or 98.49%) ones around.
