A Trip to Bizarro World!

Most 3RF will dispense one of the missing two cards. Programmer sadism.
Such "programming" would, of course, be strictly illegal.

If it's illegal, why is it happening?

I humbly suggest that it isn't.

Perhaps but I also have had a lot of "interesting" things happen of late including drawing the 4th card to a rf more often than math probability would predict. Another one is holding an A(K<Q<J) suited (as recommended) and draw 2 other aces with a kicker in DDB than one would expect. Another is drawing a card to an open-ended straight (with no high card) and pairing up There are other odd draws that have occurred as well.

There are always unusual things going to occur in VP. And, because they are unusual, they tend to stick in our mind. I recall years ago thinking I was being shafted on drawing to trips and not hitting the quad, so I started keeping meticulous track of the whiffs versus successes. I found, a bit to my surprise, that, over time, the hit rate was just about as the probabilities suggest.

I tend to think that such careful record keeping would show that these unusual events do occur within the expected ranges (but who wants to do all that work?).

Congratulations, by the way, on your strong showing in the July monthly contest.

I agree about unusual occurrences. That's probably how I did so well in the monthly. Still, too many over a significant span of hands/time. Ironically, hasn't altered expected frequency of drawing the needed cards.

Thanks for the congratulations.

If I suspected a rigged game, I would collect and then post the data.

"This event has a statistical likelihood of 9.8%, but actual occurrence was 146 of 827 trials."

Without numbers, the discussions never go anywhere productive.

A late evening trip to Bizarro is planned. Small bankroll due to many discipline failure sessions. I will settle in with an Amstel light or two and maybe a Pepes Tomato pie. Discipline is the key. No market winners lately to offset the casino sessions.

Thanks. The roll is available, but there comes a point where rec play can get a little too pricey to justify. Going to try and relax and take extra Covid precautions.
