Zero For 2022.

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

Something I learned that works for me with VP:

"I can't afford to have a favorite game."

If I played that much, I would agree. I go for entertainment. Some people play golf, bowl, play bridge or mahjong. I play VP. I only play the variation I enjoy. If it isn't available at a reasonable EV, I don't go. All kinds of recreational activities that cost money. That's how I view VP. I budget what I intend to spend when I go to the casino. I don't allocate much and occasionally; I don't use the funds I bring, get to play for free, or even better, the casino pays me. That's what works for me.

Best wishes for a profitable year.

Just like you, VP is just a percentage of my entertainment budget. If it seems like I "play that much", its inaccurate. Even though I live in Vegas, I may go once a week, or once a month, just depends on our schedules. This particular weekend, I had free play all over town because I randomly gave play to four casinos here, and that produced mailers. For example, I hadn't gone to Park MGM for almost nine months, but one little visit brought free play.

By the way, my quote in my post above came directly from Bob Dancer in one of his VP classes.

Free play here in AZ, at least for me is very minimal. It reflects the relatively small amount of my coin-in. When my late wife and I had significantly more coin-in years ago, free play was abysmally low. From what I was told, Vegas casinos were much more generous back in the day than here.

Played the last two Tuesdays. Last week was more of the same. Today, a breakthrough. Came home with +$80. The only reason was I decided that I would only risk the free play. Got $20 of free play and put in $20 to activate it. Decided that I would stop once I had $25 credit from the $40 so the streak would end. Got a couple of good hands including a full house which let me play for a short time. Wonder of wonders I hit quad 6s which put me over $100. Decided to play until I was left with $100 credit. Left after 10 -15 minutes when that happened. Still no bonus quads (I play DDB) in 2022.

Nominal win. But it still beats taking yet another L.

A win is a win. Glad I didn't go the whole year without one positive outcome. :)
