When my wife and I went to the casino and someone nearby hit a royal or other good hand, we would always congratulate them regardless of how we were doing. Their good fortune was independent of our results. The same with those sitting next to you FAA.

Ditto. Last year, the lady next to me hit a Royal and I gave her a nice smile, congrats, that’s great etc. Two patrons not far away were grumbling on their cold cycles and said something like why couldn’t that be us instead. I guess the lady that hit the Royal heard them but didn’t say anything. When she got paid the 2k ( 50 cent game) she put a hundred dollar bill in my hand. I tried to give it back to her, but she insisted I keep it. I tucked it away after thanking her of course and made a stop the next day to my local animal shelter with a nice gift. Actually just came from there now, but it was just to drop off about 20 bucks worth of bottles that they collect for the deposit. They have a company that takes care of that. A solo Bizarro trip is planned for late tonite and one with the Mrs this Thursday.

No, I do not actually believe it. But I do need to vent. This wasn’t a one off; twice in a calendar quarter. I’m tentatively planning to play that machine for a stretch next time just as an experiment. As they say, nothing (additional) to lose.

Vent for what? Because people, other than you, get lucky in a casino?

Do you have a tentative time of day that you are tentatively planning to play that machine? How are you going to react if someone is already playing it at the exact time that you wanted to tentatively play it and this other player hits a royal on it?

I agree OTABILL and olds…, my wife and I congratulate the others as well when they’re next to or near us and they hit a Royal or a nice 4OAK. And we’ve had people do the same to us. We’re all trying and it should be fun, they just pushed the button at right time. Hopefully we will too when we hit Borgata later this week. And nice gesture donating to the shelter, we likewise support our local one. Good luck in the casinos….

Thank you Ted, same to you. Royals have been scarce for me recently, the wife has had hers and my share though. But I’ve been on a nice tear with a much better than average number of 4AWK. Those and the Amphora Lounge and I’m happy.
