Well, if it makes you feel any better (or younger), the first concert I attended was April 2, 1957 - Elvis, at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.

BR, glad to see you back posting in the forum. Your absence was noticed.billryan wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 7:33 amAround 1998, I was in a bar in AC when a guy showed up with a fistful of tickets. He was trying to fill seats at the Chicago show that night at Caesars. About a half dozen of us went and were given decent seats in the two-thirds full hall.
Chicago comes out and breaks into a Christmas song. WTF. The song ends, and they break into a rocked-out Rudolph. It turned out they were taping an album of Christmas songs. Three songs later, we left, as did much of the crowd. I'd have liked to see the band in a real concert.

Well, many say age is just a number, I was 9 in 1957. ….and my last trainee from work just retired. We went speed walking at the beach a couple of weeks ago. He was going to do 5 miles…..I said I can do 3, so that’s what we did. That was plenty for me. I also saw the Shirreles in 1968 at UCONN, but that was a free one. If we want to go back a bit to OMT times or before, my dad and I went to see Les Brown and his Band of Renown. My dad knew him personally from the big band ERA. Around the time I came along, my dad was pretty well known in the Boston area as a really good Sax and Clarinet player. I guess at some point we should get back to VP, but this doesn’t cost us any money. I think the Mrs and I will venture out and up Midweek.

And speaking of UCONN, a guard has brazenly busted out of Princeton to start for its basketball team! Olds would call this failing upward.

A few recent trips not worth posting about. It seems to me and several others I talk to that we just seem to never win anymore, that something weird is going on. What? Who knows AI? , just lengthy horrendous cycles? Anyway, the Mrs and I both are adopting a new strategy after seeing a pattern over many trips. It seems that after a very lengthy session, at some point we will be even, nearly so, or up just a bit. New plan is to pack it in at that point and give up on plans of regular nice big jackpots. They just aren’t happening for us or other regulars we see all the time at Bizarro. Also if you do happen to get one and continue to play, it is almost always goes straight down after that. The Mrs has come to realize this earlier than me being stubborn. But I do get it now. By the way, it isn’t the paytables. I continue to play 98-99 only and the Mrs 95-97 and percentage wise for the year my losses are ten times what hers are. Not a small sample either. Probably 120 sessions this year so far.

You stay, you pay. I have been proclaiming this for years.Glad that you have belatedly seen the light. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Upshot: I get so exhausted trying to break back even. Why continue after it finally miraculously happens?

Bizarro just removed all of the video poker under the turtle dome in the Sky Casino. That included several 9/6 quarter games. . The trend is continuing. If they keep going, I will just say thanks but no thanks and in 2 years or less will have saved enough for his/her new M Benz or something comparable. Love my Elantra though so no hurry. 53 mpg on the highway on an all gas engine. Even a steady 44 mpg at 75 mph. Who needs a hybrid!!!! ( knock on wood ) no issues after 5 1/2 years and 129 k miles

Too bad about the incredible shrinking inventory of video poker machines olds. Did you talk to anyone about this? Were they moved or completely yanked? Do we need to involve Beth Dutton?
