Comps and Single Coin Play

The wife and I went to the Cherokee Harrahs a few weeks ago.  We usually play max coin quarters all day, so a couple of free rooms are never a problem for us.  As we recently switched over to single coin play, we suspected they would stop sending us offers as our action is about 1/5 of what it was before the switch.   A week later, here comes another offer for free rooms any time we want to go.  Could it be that gamblers are so hard to come by that even single coin quarter players are still getting decent comps.  Only time will tell.

It takes the system awhile to catch up. I would doubt your offers for rooms will continue. I say this because my wife also only plays single coin and she never gets free rooms. But you never know and I wish you luck

Yeah, systems are a bit delayed. If you keep planning to play single coin there, I'd probably try to take advantage of their offers before they will eventually disappear.

Phil, you'll see your BB/CB and other comps drop off drastically. Even with a weaker economy, they'll rate based on coin in and hours played. I've seen my return offers drop off the map. Good luck nonetheless. Hope they continue sending you good stuff

I've thought about this some more.  While you're at the casino and gambling single coin, you're still buying food, services and who knows what else.  If the place is empty, no one is buying anything. If you have a track record of gambling at higher stakes, you could always go on tilt and bet the IRA.

I'm positive my comps don't come close to covering my long term loses, so I'm money ahead even if they take them all away.  Also, I won't feel guilty about playing down the street where the odds are better.

Maybe Phil they sent you a free room for your love and admiration of native americans.

Actually, I love native Americans.  If it weren't for them we wouldn't have casinos in Florida at all.  Bring on the tom toms!

Phil,
The Isle marketing people told us comps were based on previous three months of play. We also learned under the Isle system if we swipe of our card, (comp'ed meals, drawing entries, etc. records that player's number as a day at the casino which is then included in the "average daily play" which determines comps. So if you swipe your card for drawing chances but don't play you added a "zero play day" to your average.

The system will always be to the casino's advantage.

Interesting information.   I wonder what happens to your comp rate if you haven't been to the casino in over three months.  We haven't been to the Beau Rivage in about 6 months and still get offers every month.   I go to play the games, so I never swipe my card and not play. I may consider playing max coin Jacks at the Beau as it's such a nice hotel that the quarter play loses are worth the experience of the trip.  I go to the Tampa Hard Rock every week and they don't give me anything, so I am better off playing as cheaply as possible.

Unless you go past their mailing period, no activity is always better than lower activity to keep the same offers.
