Changing Denominations?

Post by FloridaPhil »

Anyone know of a Video Poker practice program where you can change denominations (.25, .50, $1) in mid play?  Sure would be helpful....

I wish we had that option on this site or at least the option to choose how many credits we wanted to play with...Is that a possibility???? If that was offered on VPGold I'd join up....

I think it would be great for practicing betting strategies based on
denomination changes. But as of right now, it's not an option. It's also a slight challenge on the site, in that we have to be really careful about it being clear that money is not at stake here. Even as it is now, we get people asking how they can claim their winnings. Nobody ever asks where they can send a check for their losses though. We definitely see the advantage of having that as a feature and it may one day make it onto the site.

I downloaded an evaluation copy of Video Poker for Winners and it lets you change demoninations mid play.  I love it.  Seems to have all of the common pay schedules that I have in my area.  Definately worth the $50!

Wolf Video Poker (WVP) also has this capability. Just one click and you can move up or down in denomination.

I have been testing Dancer's Video Poker for Winners for the last two weeks.  It seems to have everything I have been looking for.  You can cash out and change denominations on the fly.  I especially like the preprogrammed common pay schedules and the ability to play all the common casino games.  I have used WinPoker for a number of years as a training tool and the new software is much much better.  With the ability to change denominations and cash out, I can simulate the way I actually play.  I can see that I am staying with the big denominations too long and not protecting my winnings correctly.  I think this will be a big help to me in the long run.  Definitely worth the $50 investment,

Phil you can also "create" your own game. If you play a game at your casino that has a different paytable you can create that game by taking the closest game to it and changing the pay table and name it and save it for future play! (I just figured that out after having VPFW for years LOL)
