Re: NEW Poker Room - Play for cash and prizes

Post by Big Bad Bob 3 »

I have several issues with the new Poker Room software, but I will only address one of the now. In the Video Poker contests if one does not finish all of the allowed deals he/she is disqualified and their score is not counted at all. Any example of that is a tournament that just finished, $5 Dbl Dbl bonus on 9/19 @ 1:00 PM. A player had finished 89 of the 100 hands and their best single hand was 4035. They were listed as a DNF and not counted. That single hand score would have put them in 2nd place if it were counted. One should get credit for their total score no matter how many hands they finish. I have never seen a VP tour in the numerous ones I have played in Casinos, disqualify a player who did not play all of the allowed hands.

I agree with you but they don't like dissention on this site so there's no use making a valid point or complaining.  The Poker Room is a technical nightmare.  Their programmers don't know what they are doing. As a side note, don't waste your time trying to earn points through their Offers because you just end up on e-mail/phone lists but you don't actually earn any extra points to use in the Poker Room.  If you contact Customer Service, they just say that's too bad for you.The site is a complete failure (but a GREAT IDEA so it's a real shame).  This post should be quickly deleted like my other post.  Thanks Videopoker.com!

I also agree that this site is a technical nightmare. I have tried to play, but my screen freezes, and of course then I lose my points, and can't even play. I contacted Customer Service the first time and they credited my points, but the second time, it's just not worth it. I don't have that problem with any other website. What a waste. As you said Xfile, great idea, poor execution. I guess I'll just stick to videopoker.com, where I don't have to put up with those endless ads.....ahhhh!

I also have the problem with my computer freezing up. I try to rejoin contest but either it happens again or it won't deal. Contacted support and got my points back for one contest, even though it happened for several. It's gotta be the ads eating up my memory. Thought I had a good computer - tons of memory - fast processor - but this is just too much. Too bad too cause I loved the idea. And I'm not dishing out another $5 a month for no ads.  Too bad so sad!

My FIRST post regarding the new Video Poker room is what was deleted.  That's what I was referring to.Anyways, I have played 2000 deals (6000 hands) on the Triple Play video poker over at that other site and I have had NO (ZERO!) four of a kinds in those 6000 hands.  I suppose that's in the realm of mathematical probability but it seems ridiculous to me.  I just don't trust the site.  I LOVE videopoker.com and I thought the new Poker Room was gonna be so cool because I trusted the videopoker.com brand and I'm assuming IGT has some affiliation with it.I'm just extra frustrated because my computer with all this memory and a decent CPU runs just awful over there.  I also have to use FlashBlock on this site because the ads you guys run are so memory-intensive.  I'd be willing to pay a nominal amount for no ads but the yearly fee is so high.Sorry to sound like a jerk.  I'm just venting about issues that these sites have that I wish could be fixed!  I know it probably just sounds like criticism without the "constructive" element to it!

Your videopoker.com/poker room sucks and I have just removed it from my computer. I got fed up with the rules, like disqualifying players who do not finish the allowed number of hands, the constant freezing up, having breaks on only an 8 or 13 minute contest and I could go on & on but it’s not worth the effort. My computer has one gig if RAM and a 2.5 ghtz processor. It’s not my computer, it’s that stupid site. Apparently you did not do your homework in deciding to go with them. You should have investigated more. I will continue to be a fan of videopoker.com as it is a well run site. I just couldn’t take any more of the constant aggravation.

The biggest problem with the new poker room is the ads.  You play a 4 minute session and watch 6 minutes of ads.   The "big" winner gets $5.00--not worth watching all the ads.

By the way, I also "win" a $1000 Wal-Mart or Best Buy gift card every day on this site.

I'm done with the new Poker Room too.  I ended  up playing 16,000 hands of video poker and never got anything over a regular four of a kind... no As, 2s, 3s or 4s. The cards that come out don't look random and that's rather  upsetting.  Are they not regulated by a gaming agency since it's not a gambling website?I also am disappointed that you have to sit through a gazillion video ads to play poker when you can play ad-free right here.  Plus, you have TONS of different VP games to play on this site.  There are some great sites out there to play free poker (where you can win money too) so I just don't understand how this new videopoker.com room is ever going to catch on.  I might revisit it in a few months to see if any technical improvements are made but it's just too frustrating to play on right now.  Good luck!
