This may be posted in the wrong place and if it is I hope the moderators will move. My question is whether it is better to practice on the computer or an actual machine.

I am considering buying a VP machine to play on at home if I can find a good one that is legal for home use in NC. (it has to be 25 years old, manufactured in 1992 or earlier) I don't know if one even exists.

I know there is nothing like the feel of a real machine no matter how good the graphics and I think the games on this site are awesome......just wondering if anybody owns a VP machine to practice on.

I've only been told it's not legal to own one. I live in Montana and was told old machines have to be surrendered to the state and destroyed. There's definitely a state law issue.

My only concern would be whether the old machines still use the RNG format like the ones you'd actually play in a live casino.

Near as I can tell this site as about as good as you can get for practicing before you put some real money on the line.

If you find a good machine I'd be curious to know how it works for you.

VP machines are legal in many states for home use as long as you don't use them for gambling. Good point about the RNG though
