Video Poker For Winners Multi-Strike

Post by treebakka »

I am really enjoying studying Multi-Strike poker on VPW. The extra challenge of Multi-Strike is a really nice challenge. I was just wondering if there was any way to use Video Poker for Winners to study the multi strike that has 5 levels, with the top level paying 16x.

Sort of. Use the regular MS strategy, bumped up one level, for the top four levels. That is, use Level 1x strategy on VPW for Level 2x on the new game.

To figure out the Level 1x in the game where it goes up to 16x, you add 8 per unit to the 1-coin pay schedule --- and then use that.

For example, assume you have 9/6 Jacks or Better. On the left below is "normal" pay schedule, and to the right is the "add 8" strategy.

RF 800 808
SF 50 58
4K 25 33
FH 9 17
FL 6 14
ST 4 12
3K 3 11
2K 2 10
J+ 1 9

You'll have to practice this strategy separately --- as a standalone game. Once you have it down, when you play in the casino use this strategy for Level 1x --- and use the VPW strategies for the higher four levels.

This doesn't allow you to practice the game all at once --- but it does allow you to learn the strategy

Thanks, that is perfect. Does adding 8 to the paytable give the exact strategy or a close approximation?

close approximation

Before VPW, we did this for all lines --- adding 6 for Level 1x, 4 for Level 2x, 2 for Level 4x, and nothing at all for Level 8x or for the Free Ride. The strategy we came up with worked well and I would use it playing for real dollars against the casino.
