Me either, but to Spider.....It’s like us having a Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia Hot fudge Sundae. My favorite by the way.

Was he able to become a doctor in the US? I ask because I had two friends that were doctors, one from Equador, the other Colombia and they were unable practice medicine here. One night, a man had a heart attack in my bar and the Colombian stabilized him until para-medics arrived. The Equadorian got deported for illegally performing liposuction at a beauty salon, but the Colombian retired from the NY School System as a Dean.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 9:05 amThe history of medicines discovered by accident is fascinating. According to legend, way way back in South America, a native was dying of a hgh fever and he was lost in the mountains. He drank from a stagnant pool and tought he was poisoned from the bitter taste. The water was actually full of quinine from the bark of a certain tree. The name escapes me. Anyway, his fever abated and he was fine. In the early 1600’s, Jesuit missionaries used the quinine from the bark to treat Malaria and other fevers in the native population. This is just a small part of the fascinating history of the drug. The only reason I know this stuff is my brother in law grew up in the mountains of Peru. He became a great Orthopedic surgeon. Now retired. In his native country, he only had basic hand tools, the same ones a carpenter would use to repair bone injuries. In the early days as a Dr., he would get to his patients by Burro or an old beat up discarded WW11 jeep that he and his dad got running. Hope some out there find this interesting.

Yes. Probably got an H1 visa I’m guessing. Finished med school here and established a practice for many years. Has since retired back to Peru but continues to help out in a local clinic there.

Good one Olds, you're gonna need a 2nd screen, or maybe a 3rd! The Liberals keep changing the rules

He he he...not easy to draw on styrofoam, but that is when I seem to get my ideas. Right after a nice breakfast at my local family run diner. Speaking of which, I’m about due to bring Lio back into the cartoons. The Libs extended his so called vacation which really was a quarantine until his ink remained negative for a few weeks.

I knocked out this cartoon for a friend a little while ago. At least it cracked her up and lightened up her day.
