We visited the newest Vegas casino on the Strip: Resorts World. (Genting)
We ignored the actual grand opening weekend, anticipating uncomfortable large crowds, and instead opted to visit a few days ago.
PROS: It's new and shiny. That's it.
CONS: My list is long:
** Parking Garage is not attached to the casino itself. Wear good walking shoes. WTF, what were they thinking? When temperatures hover around 115 degrees throughout the summer, people will pass out from heat stroke just getting from the garage to the main building. On the day we went, it was "only" 108 degrees outside, and it felt like we had parked in Arizona and walked.
** Parking Garage was positively filthy, littered with garbage, as if no one had bothered to clean up from construction workers' food trash since 2020. Disgusting smelly garage elevators. Zero signage in the garage on how to find the elevators, zero signage on how to exit the garage leading to the LONG walkway to the casino. No "green light/red light" signage indicating empty/full parking space (come on, Genting, older casinos have this sensible feature). So, plan to circle the garage with many other cars up and down aisles, searching for a spot.
** If you haven't given up yet, you might finally reach that long walkway in the 115 degrees. There, you will observe dirt and more dirt, because no landscaping (yet). Trash everywhere again.
** If you are persistent, and still going, you enter through the valet lines. Note there will only be ONE door across the front that has the "wave your hand" automated door opening access. One door.
** Needed the restroom now. First one is located near these front doors, inside the "food court." Good luck. There is no signage for Men vs. Women restroom. Someone has taped up a sheet of paper to the wall, designating which is which. Nice touch.
** Since we are now here, in the food court, we look around. No prices at all posted on each individual food "stall." No signage on how to determine what's on offer and the price. Ahh, there's a kiosk, mobbed with people. You need to scroll through the kiosk screen, choose your food, and pay there. Then, you wait. And wait. And wait. When we were there, the kiosks were mostly non-functional, orders not getting sent to the kitchen, payments not processing, and best of all, food stalls running out of food, even though you already paid. Like, the chicken place running out of chicken. Good luck with getting a refund. Insufficient seating, as well, and of course dirty trash laden tables.
** If you are persistent, still going, head out to get a players' card. When I went, Genting was status matching other casino cards. We learned from a host that they had 40,000 cards processed opening week, and had to stop status matching, though now limiting it to only top tier folks, such as NOIR from MGM. If you status match, you must talk to a Resorts Host in the Host office, as no one else is qualified at the Reward card desk or kiosks to do this.
** Gambling. Nope. A BIG NOPE. I don't know what paytables were initially, since we didn't go until five days after opening weekend, but they suck now. Blackjack is continuous shufflers, 6/5, unless you are in their high limit room. High limit room was EMPTY when we were there. They had only shoe games, no double deck. Minimal VP machines.
** Hotels. Don't do it. Wait at least six months. We had cancelled our Crockfords rez a couple weeks ago, and found out that Crockfords didn't even open on time, and everyone was moved to Conrad (downgraded, with zero compensation, unless you fought hard with Hilton Corporate).
** Restaurants: understaffed. Overpriced. No reason to return.
My assessment : They should have waited six months to open, rather than being greedy and trying to capture the 4th of July crowds. First impressions are only once. Way too many glitches, you can read about it on Yelp reviews, which are overwhelmingly one star.
I hated the whole experience. Good luck to them, I won't go back.

WOW - don't think I would have made it out of the garage. Sounds like a mess - I have heard the casino is small - Perhaps they will have alot of shows to draw the crowd.

Glad we didn’t follow out initial wants. We almost booked a room for tomorrow night and Tuesday but changed our minds. Also I read somewhere else that some of the “Crockfords” guest were not just downgraded but charged even more when being moved down into what is supposed to be the next cheaper hotel. Sounds like we missed a mess. Not even sure I will ever stay there after some of the stuff I have read. Thanks for the solid information

I thought the casino was large . . . it's like a Costco warehouse, IMHO.
Many many more slot machines than VP.
They apparently have a large theater for upcoming shows, but we never saw it, so maybe it's another feature still under construction. Many of the shops were also unfinished/unopened.

Anecdotally, I did see a VP machine in the High Limit room that paid out $27,500.
I thought of Bob, though I didn't look at the paytables on it. In the main casino, the VP Paytables suck

High limit 8/5 BP, 9/6/5 DB and 9/6 DDB are the best games.
