I have been laying low casino trip wise because I was heading out to Las Vegas for a work event 9/16/24 - 9/19/24.
Landed Monday, mid-afternoon. Checked into Cosmopolitan with some co-workers and hung with them through dinner. I then pulled an Irish Goodbye and Ubered over to Rio.
I went to Rio more out of nostalgia than anything, wanting to see what had changed since it was no longer controlled by Caesars. Upon walking in, wow! The place was in mid-remodeling shape and actually looked bad this way. I decided to play anyway as I wanted to get on their radar because they have been sending me some decent room/freeplay/dining comps.
Searching for a familiar bank of 3/5/10 play machines, I found that they were gone. Walking around, I found an All Star II machine and decided to give it a whirl. Playing for a while, not doing anything too spectacular:
After getting paid off, I plodded on. About 30 minutes later:
That was it, getting late and I had to be up at 5:30 am so I called it a night and headed back to Cosmopolitan for some sleep.
Tuesday, spent the entire day at the work event. Afterward, I decided to go to Caesars. Ubered over. Played a bar machine and dumped a grand. Walked around and found an All Star II machine and sat down. Played some 10 play TDB and dumped $500.00. Switched to Dream Card and:
I did hit a royal on Dream Card but failed to snap a picture. I went to Peter Luger and had a very good steak with some diced potatoes. Very tasty. After eating, I decided to go back to Cosmopolitan and try my luck there.
Upon arriving back to Cosmopolitan, I can say this about them. Their video poker selection is, poor. I was very disappointed with their lack of video poker machines. I ended up in the high limit room at a Hundred Play machine, starting out playing 20 hands at a time, .25 denom. I was kinda sorta holding my own, got a royal (sorry, no pic) and upped the number of hands to 40 and try my luck. After hitting the royal I upped my hands to 60. Playing for a bit, rewarded with:
Dumped almost all back after getting paid, called it a night and went up to my room. Grumbling at myself.
Wednesday work thing from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, including dinner with coworkers. Irish Goodbye and then walked over to Paris. Went on a search for some video poker and found a 10 play All Star II machine that had some broken buttons. Decided to play anyway because it looked as if the guy playing next to me was getting ready to leave. The guy eventually left and I jumped over to his machine. Playing for a bit, then: Oops, new post coming.

Then:
Got paid off and went back to work. Then, the strangest thing that has ever happened to me in a casino, happened. A guy walked up to the machine next to me with the broken buttons, started pressing buttons. I know what he was doing, he was probably looking at paytables, with no luck because of the buttons. He then came over to me, WHILE I WAS PLAYING and started pressing the buttons on my machine. I BLEW UP!!! I started screaming at the guy, as he was telling me that he "just wanted to see something." I told him that he was going to see the inside of the Emergency Room if he didn't immediately get the hell away from me. He was still standing there so I got a bit more aggressive and told him that if I had to stand up, he was not going to enjoy it. He then left and I went back to playing.
About 30 minutes later, after having upped my denomination with the previous hand pay, I got very good results from a draw:
I played about 30 minutes more and decided to call it a night, another 5:30 am wake up call on Thursday morning.
All in all, I ended up positive this trip. Mostly courtesy of my stop at Paris.
Still love Las Vegas.

Some really good draws there on some really good dealt hands, as usual. Fifty to a hundred bucks a hand insists you get some hand pays. Musta earned serious Tier credits.

In your first picture, why is the 5x not showing in the STP box on the left hand corner like my 10x here?

Thanks, TT. Tier credits earned at Caesars and Paris were about 2,700 each, got the 5,000 TC match for both. Cosmo and Rio, I wasn't overly concerned about theirs.TripleTriple wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 10:45 amSome really good draws there on some really good dealt hands, as usual. Right now I'm sitting at 165,000 for Total Rewards.

Thanks doris.
I was sitting there in the Twilight Zone as the guy was reaching for my machine. I tried to get loud enough to draw the attention of security in order for me to not have to get physical with the guy. Who knows, we both may have been tossed from the joint.

Congrats Ted!! I don’t think I could have kept my cool a bit like you did and no doubt would have been tossed because casinos don’t seem to care who did what first to who. At least up here they don’t. I would have probably been nursing a swolen left hand and dealing with who knows what else!! yikes! Glad all ended well. What a wack job you were dealing with. Have to admit I have never heard of or seen such a thing.
