Monthly Challenge
I choose "Super Double Double Bonus" in the Monthly Challenge. Is there is another variation that would give me better odds of winning the tournament?

No matter what game you choose to play, the odds of winning the monthly contest are very slim. In my opinion, you need at least three royals, or the equivalent in other premium hands, to be in contention, and four to have a good chance of winning. Playing a high variance game, and being lucky enough to be on the right side of the variance curve for most of the month is what you need.
Super double double is, to me, as good a choice as any. But, you can get lucky in any of the games, and if you can hit those three or four royals in a month in one of the lower variance games, you will have a good chance of coming out on top.
FWIW, I did win the monthly contest a year and a half ago, playing super double double. I had "only" one royal, but a phenomenal number of quad aces, many with premium kickers, and that's what did it for me. Since then, though - not much!

Thanks. I was tempted by one of the Joker games as 5 of a kind seems a little easier than a royal, but the overage payout/return is better for Super DDB. I'd be real happy for a top ten finish to qualify me for the TOC. I have to catch up about 6000 this time...well, 11 days left.

The explanation is spot on.onemoretry wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:09 amNo matter what game you choose to play, the odds of winning the monthly contest are very slim. For the Top 100 leaderboard I noticed over time that there are more features added to show a log of a player's session scores and screenshots pictures of their big hits. They are not dealt a Royal Flush like most of the Daily and Weekly Contest winners are.
I took a look at how the Top 5 players are doing, two of them had multiple Royal Flushes which is rare to do when you are playing 15,000 hands the entire contest and a Royal Flush hit is once out of every 40,000+ hands. The other players had more than 5 premium quad + kicker hits to go along with one Royal Flush.
Congrats on winning in the past monthly contest. The odds are indeed very stacked to place in the Top 10. I just wanted to collect a Top 100 achievement to help get a boost for the 7 Stars Contest qualification.
However, if I knew I would have a great 15,000 hand stretch, I would much rather happen at a live casino than in the monthly contest
