the deer start getting frisky this time of year and hop out of the woods with no warning. Had a close call yesterday.

Not exactly the same thing - but quite similar. We were being driven from Reno to Harrahs Tahoe Monday evening. From the back seat, I saw something flash across the front of the vehicle. The driver said that he had never seen that in over twenty years of driving this route - it was a mountain lion.

Out here, I have had to avoid hitting Javelinas and Coyotes on streets and highways. Of course, wild horses cross highways and there are appropriate warning signs to alert motorists.

I’ve seen a couple of deer in my neck of the woods. Far from the road, but close enough and always a threat to wander in.

I had to look up Javelinas as I did not know what they were. We have them up my way. You learn something every day.

Wow! Only seen one in my life in Ct. About 30 years ago. It was feeding in the salt marsh. Plenty of Bobcats though.

The Mrs snd I went up Wednesday night and stayed till early Thursday evening. Mostly a low budget. Nothing with talking about on my end. The Mrs pulled her usual rabbit out of the Kelly green hat far enough to fill up the tank and a couple of lunches with her girlfriends.

I learned something today. I never heard of Javelinas. Now I know why. They don’t go further North than Texas or Arizona. I don’t guess they could help me win at VP anyway. Just guessing, they might be a target for the Mountain Lions. I was confused because my wife used to own a Javelin. We got it right after we got married. Sharp looking car.
