Re: Latest on Las Vegas/Nevada Casinos
Has anyone gone to a Las Vegas casino? I am curious if you can play next to a family member. Did you feel safe.

Regional Sports Surcharge $8.50 every month on our cable bill for that stadium. They also just got hit with a 14K fine from OSHA, and that is a union job to boot.
If they do open, it will most likely be without an audience to start with.

I live in LV. Yes you can play next to a family member if the adjacent machines are turned on. I do feel safe where I play. I don't play at the strip casinos though. Can't do Dotty's or PTs because of the smoke that permeates the premises that you could probably smell from the moon! Just have to keep your guard up at all times.

Clark County is now in the Red Zone. I would not be surprised if major restrictions are put in place early next week if the trend continues.

This says it all about the status of Las Vegas in terms of Coronavirus.

Posted this elsewhere on this forum: Consumer Electronics show is out. 170,000 visitors NOT coming to Las Vegas for the annual convention here in January. I can't imagine any conventions or the rodeo still taking place here this year . . . we shall see.
On a good note, the Las Vegas real estate market is booming here, due to low interest rates, and it is a Seller's market. Bidding wars!

You flunked science in high school no doubt...when you repeatedly utter "Chinese virus" you display your hostile ignorance for all to see. Why are so many self proclaimed conservatives unwilling to acknowledge scientific facts about things like the environment being trashed and destroyed by sick selfish "capitalist greed"? You just cannot accept the earth is Everyones home, the impact of fossil fuels, accumulated garbage, and overdeveloping and killing off species is contributing to pandemics like covid19....but mostly this version of the coronavirus, which is constantly mutating trying to survive like ALL viruses, simply found a way to live inside humans, and it apparently happened in wuhan, but that is not definitely true either. Just stop this hateful nonsense and Google viruses...you'll never succeed in trying to deflect or minimize the utter incompetence and criminally irresponsible actions of your president....never going to happen now.notes1 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 8:26 pmbooze and gambling just don't go together, at least not when there is a chinese virus. the more booze, the less folks follow mandates, especially young people. vegas has no one to blame but themselves.
friend of mine goes to the niagara falls casino, which typically is flowing with free drinks. not now, no booze. the casino i visit has a large center bar, but no more hanging around the bar (which one has to pay for). as no one can concregate around bar, the machines at the bar are available to play (with 6-8' of separation).
this is the time for casinos and many other businesses to try and just survive. not to try and get back to old normal. normal will come after vaccine, cure or herd immunity.
Trump had a perfect chance to really shine, to show he is leader and to disprove so many knocks against him....but he is incapable of any good noble effort, just can't do it, and my former party the republicans have sold their greedy souls to him.

Again, let's keep politics out of the rest of the forum. Political discussion belongs in Anything and Everything. Thanks.

What is the latest on Vegas casinos? Any thought that the casinos will be moving into a new phase?
