Re: May 2020 Monthly Contest - Forum Participation Edition
72,280 this month. Tough month, quad deuces once and no royals. Hard time getting help for marginal hands. Still, it was really fun. Congrats to eventual winner.

Close, but not that close, since #2, up to this point, did not qualify. In fact 5 of the top ten finishers are in the non-qualified category. It would be nice if all who participated would become active Forum members. Which begs the question, will there be a Forum Participation Edition next month?Webman wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 5:26 pmIt ain't over til it's over, but... it's almost over. Barring any final surge by J. Bulletz, this looks like an incredibly close finish.

I think we will take a break after this one. I do hope to do it again, and hopefully get most of our key forum participants to partake. Next time, I'm thinking a much higher bar to enter... perhaps even 100 posts at the start of the contest. I don't want to be too restrictive, but also want to honor the intent. We should have enough people in that category to make it a good time. If people stick around in the forum and share their experiences, getting to 100 happens faster than one might think. I do understand that not everyone is able to make the commitment that a full month contest entails. But there are definitely some folks who I would enjoy seeing in the mix.

I could get interested in partaking if the games interest me.

I figured there would be a pause. Glad we had it for two months. I agree with raising the bar especially in order to enter. My concern is that a number of regulars have not participated during the closure of casinos nationwide. I fear that with casinos reopening, there would be less interest. You might consider increasing the incentive. One other suggestion regarding raising the bar. I would have anyone who achieves the status of forum regular, which I believe, is 50 posts, eligible.Webman wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 8:13 pmI think we will take a break after this one. I agree with Ted that a separate but unique forum contest would be nice. Raise the bar a little to be eligible. As OTABILL pointed out forum regular to be eligible when the contest begins, 50 posts, is not unreasonable. Let all of us that are thinking about participating that already have reached eligibility vote from 4 or 5 choices that you give us and whatever game the majority decides on that will be the forum contest game for that month. To start with, I don't think compensation matters that much. But if is goes over well, and enough people look forward to and participate in it, then it might make sense to offer something similar to the compensation on the regular monthly contest.
I know putting these contests together takes a lot of work. I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we appreciate your effort in putting them together. There are a lot of people that read the forum but do not participate for whatever reason. This forum contest idea you came up with may be a step in the right direction in getting more new people involved and if tweaked just a little might get some involvement from some of our more seasoned veterans on here.

Congrats on your Victory. Hopefully, there will be a tournament in the future during which you can defend your crown. In the meantime, you are the reigning Forum Champion.seemoreroyals wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 5:06 amI agree with Ted that a separate but unique forum contest would be nice. Thank you Come Back Kid and OTABILL. I hope Webman changes his mind and gives me a chance to defend my crown. It was close. I had one royal earlier in the month and somehow put together enough other premium hands throughout the month to hang on by the skin of my teeth. I feel fortunate to have won.
