i was thinking about card counting this weekend but came across this posthttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11220904
so after i lose 1,000$ or more my next trip i'll be ready and so will they by half shoeing me or flat betting me?
then i thought i will just play progressive video poker but wait, if i land a 2k jackpot after taxes its a losing prop
if i lived in vegas i can table hop for maybe 5 months counting and then gobble up the progresive video poker machines while chewing on fpdw
so how do us east coasters in atlantic city manage?
how does 1make money in ac?

I live in NJ and am just so discouraged with vp in Ac. They have not gotten any new games in years and the machines are not well maintained. The buttons stick and the same machine has had buttons stuck for over a year. The position of the seats cannot be moved as they are bolted in place so after sitting for an hour I must quit because of pains in my neck and arm. I have to overstretch my arm to reach the buttons. I have written over and over to the management and nothing is done. The most important complaint is the lack of four of a kinds. I have put two thousand dollars in a machine playing 50 cents and have not gotten a jackpot hand. Lots of 3 of a kinds. It’s really outrageous. I have limited my visits there and now go the the Parx casino in Pa. Plenty of Jackpots and a much more pleasant experience.

I sympathize. I went up to fifty cents and thought that a hand pay would be possible, but Stress City since my March 2019 quarters RF. Just name names in terms of casinos. I will assume Bally’s by the bolted seats and back/arm pain. I played there for $20 last week after a $250 quad. I usually get quads on schedule, but when absent I bust. I see and hear of jackpots in AC. They just elude me. Never put over $200 in a machine as I foolishly did, never mind $2,000. It’s an armless bandit and you were taken. $2,000 over one session? That point was also vague. Frustrating post to decipher. Sticky buttons where? That’s been a Tropicana issue for me.

The best casino or video poker players is the Borgata. You have to check the machines for the paybacks

Yeah, tied with Harrah's, Bally's and Caesars. AC has a lot of 99% spread out well. Two right in the heart of town and two Marina casinos.

I like to play weekly, and that’s hassle enough. I’m looking to sprinkle in four $25 hands from now on to actually have a memorable hit once a year. Once every twenty minutes is probably my formula.
