Re: Phone Damage

After years of Androids, I switched to an iphone and regret it every day. I don't care if it can do a zillion things while mining bitcoin at the same time. It has terrible work habits. Switching to silent mode just before an important phone call, lallygagging when I need something off the web, wandering off to a room where I won't look for it. I could go on, and on, and on....

Speed is more of a provider problem. Determine which one services your area best and pick them, assuming an unlocked phone. That’s another can of worms.

I learned a new word today. I don’t think it existed when I grew up. Luddite. I’m in that club and proud of it. I was perfectly content believe it or not with black and white tv, toaster, and rotary phone. No text no voice mail. No freezing up programs. No spending a good part of your life on the phone and or internet just like I do here. Things got fixed and repaired. Now its a throwaway society at the slightest glitch. I could repair or even build a car blindfolded. Now I am lucky if I can check my own oil and add windshield washer fluid. There is a reason they named the multitude of lights on your dash idiot lights when you turn the key on.

Happy to help. The term originated around 1800 with Ned Ludd. Fearing job losses, they busted up a quite a few machines across the pond.

Yesterday, liquid seeped into my phone and prevented me from entering its passcode. First thing today, I entered the Apple store seeking advice. I said that I cannot code in. Suddenly, one digit did work. He told me to take off the case. He dried out the whole face and it suddenly worked again. He also sprayed the plastic case cover, stained with coffee. I have a separate shield affixed over phone as well. The same thing happened to me a couple years ago and was also resolved. I'm definitely taking more precautions.

Cut and paste almost six months later. The very same thing happened on Sunday. Again, the techs bailed me out. I'd lose my head if it weren't attached.

I just carelessly toss my virtually drained casino coffee cup (with slotted lid) into my tote bag with the phone. There's perhaps a fraction of one percent chance that a drop of leftover liquid will make contact with the phone. Yet twice in six months, plunging me into a panic. I've got to start bringing a water bottle. If only RFs had this frequency!
