Great report spx. I'm happy that you came back on a positive note money wise and you gave me reason to visit the Mob Museum next time I'm out there.

Consider this scenario: a long-time player has very deep pockets, has hit all kinds of jackpots on all kinds of games. She knows the strategy and though she could play near perfect- she has had the best luck playing her way. So instead of the proper play, she tries for longshots and favors red suits. Always holds the A-10, holds kickers with a pair, dumps all 5 indiscriminately.
Her husband plays 1200 hands an hour and likes Zombies and Daiquiris. He likes to play all types of games and plays them pretty much all the same way. Doesn't even realize what game he switched to.
People you know? Very close to you? In the same household maybe?
Asking for a friend . . .
Would never have another man in my household.
Wife does NOT know strategy. Thus rarely accompanies.
I don't drink liquor.
All characters are fictional and over 21, except that I'm sure they also exist in "real" life.

Without starting a new thread, wanted to add another suggestion to activities here in Vegas that don't involve gambling:
Main Street Station reopens on September 8th. Yes, it is a casino, but it's so much more.
I didn't include it in my list because there was doubt when/if it would reopen.
Ask at the hotel front desk for their brochure about antiques and art to be found on property. It details the wonderful artifacts to be found throughout, and it includes a map of the property designating where to find them.
If you like their buffet, it's supposed to reopen, so after taking your self-guided tour with the brochure, you can end up there. Breakfast is the only option I'd ever consider there.
On a not to be missed list, I'd put Pinball Hall of Fame at number one, Mob Museum at number two, and then Main Street Station at third (because it's a free tour!)

I read today that the Evel Knieval museum which is currently located in Topeka, KS may be moving to Las Vegas. Could be interesting to spend a couple hours there some time soon.

One wall could be covered in pictures of him flying over X# of Y's. Another wall covered in his X-rays. And another reminding people that his name was Evel, not Evil. If the Snake river canyon rocket is still around that would look good on the roof...

Evel wanted his belongings kept together and displayed in his home town. After his death, his family sold off most of it and it is scattered all around the country. The museum in Topeka is little more than a fan's personal collection of Knievl memorabilia , some of which came from the estate auctions.
Evidently, that person is negotiating to sell his stuff to someone who may or may not open a similar museum in Las Vegas. In any event, most of Evels stuff is scattered across the globe and I doubt much of it will be returned for display.
Evel fell on hard times towards the end of his life as he lost his endorsements and royalties from his extensive line of merchandising. His toy royalties were over a half million dollars a year at their peak and he was able to charge thousands for a personal appearance but that all dried up after he went to prison. His addiction to spending drove him bankrupt and he had to sell off some of his most treasured items.
While the concept of an Evel Knieval museum sounds great, I think the reality will be far different.

On a related note- Sometime in the early 1980s, one of my friends got busted for a DWI, back when it wasn't that big deal. Another friend of mine calls me and says he is driving to the jail to bail out Steve and do I want to come. We get there and even though Steve has been in custody for over eight hours he stinks of booze and and is acting drunk. He tells us of the great time he had in the cell and that Evel Knieval was in the drunk tank with him. He is making little sense and soon falls asleep.
That night ,on the news, is the story of Mr. Knieval getting arrested for DWI. Turns out my friend wasn't just imagining it.
