I've had three hits over the past few days that, while not millions or billions to one, are still pretty rare.

Yesterday, playing the monthly contest on this site, I drew to the jack of clubs, and got the four other high club cards for a royal. On Friday, I had done just about the same, drawing to the king of spades, and hitting the royal.

Even better (financially), at Seneca Niagara last Wednesday, I drew to two high spade cards and hit a royal for $2000!

In video poker, you just never know when the hits will come!

I think I know what you mean, but can you elaborate? I guess quick pick generates more randomness. I wanted to preserve back end viability, hence the tails in the 60s. Little did I know the hopper would shun the last 45 numbers.

Somehow I'm having a hard time equating spending 15 bucks on a impossible dream with gambling.

Many years ago I applied for a position with a municipal water & sewer company. I was told I was the second person with my first & last name that they interviewed that day. And my name isn't John Smith, George Donahue or Jim Brown.

I did not get the job, but maybe the other Rumplestiltskin did.

I wouldn't have very much to contribute to such a thread. Since COVID, I have played locally at Casino Rama just seven times, six in 2021 and once in 2022 (some 14 months ago). It simply does not have the allure it once did.

Understand. I don’t know how many other posters we have up your way. I hope the air quality is getting better. Last I read there are over 4,000 fires still burning. The last time I have been up your way was in 1975. We drove all the way up into Calais and a short ride over the border. On the way back into the states, there was a new customs agent. He must have asked me 100 questions and searched the car very thoroughly. At the time I had a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Conv The car was nice but the top was beat up. I had fiber glasses repaired the trunk floor that had rotted due to the winter salt. The agent was very suspicious of that. I think he finally gave up on the questions when he asked me a question about Ted Williams. I knew a lot of Ted Williams trivia that he didn’t know. My father in law had also served with him during WW2 when recovering from injuries.
Speaking of events that are millions to one, in 1953, n my dad ( we lived in Boston at the time) took me to my first ball game at Fenway Park. We were in the bleachers way up too. Sure enough, Ted Williams hit one out of the park. My dad was only 5 foot four and I was little so the shot flew right over our heads. I still will never forgot it. In 1946, Ted Williams hit the longest home run ever hit at Fenway. 502 feet. There have been over 9,000 out of the park homers at Fenway Park.
