Hmmmmmm. I find that once they are sliced into, they keep several days nice in the fridge, but I wrap them in a paper towel and put that in a zip lock bag. Otherwise, they stay out. Dont forget to separate the bunch when you get them. They will keep longer.

I assume you refer to separating the bunch kept at room temp.

I was given a non smoking room this trip, also on the end of the hall. It is only two floors below my usual, so the same great views minus twenty feet altitude.
The room had a creepy white box gadget plugged and locked into the wall. I just learned that it is a smoke detector. A blue sign on my desk warned that if smoke is detected, patrons are fined $500. I’m taking smoking rooms from now on. Higher floors and no ominous Big Brother Orwellian fixture. It just gives me a bad vibe. AC is allegedly all about good vibes only.

I felt so violated. I wanted to smash this thing with the heel of my shoe or the ice bucket. Never again. I will insist on a smoking room. I could also have thrown my 24 water bottles at it. One of them would have eventually done the trick. Good thing that I don’t act on such impulses.
