Just when I thought I had read/heard most every example of idiots being allowed to parent or procreate, there was one that pretty much takes the cake. And remember, I live in the Chicago area so this example is a REAL doozy.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that a 4 month old baby died this past weekend after suffering a heat-related illness while on a boat at Lake Havasu Friday afternoon. The reported temperature at Lake Havasu reached 121 degrees. It was unspecified just how long the baby was on the boat before becoming ill.
I am wishful that the parents are charged with a crime. Who, in their right mind, would think that it was a good idea to bring a 4 month old baby into that extreme temperature? And please, no "but the parents will have to live with this the rest of their lives." This act was criminal and alcohol was possibly involved. Oh, but a Go-Fund-Me page has been set up.

Thanks Ted. Unfortunately, I heard one today that I couldn’t even listen the details on. A 2 year old left in a hot car alone and of course died. It may have been in Arizona. I have one solution for parents or guardians like that, but it wouldn’t be fit to print !!! And no matter what the punishment is on what’s left of the law, there is only one solution as far as I am concerned.

The 2-year-old was left in a car in Marana, a Tucson suburb. The father said he left the a/c on. Same day, a 2-year-old died in a hot car Little Rock Arkansas. A baby/toddler should never be left in a car, let alone in 111-degree heat. How many times has a car with a kid left alone been car-jacked. Thus-far in 2024, 9 kids have died in hot cars. Since 1990, at least 1093 kids have died in hot cars nationwide. BTW, I recall hearing about a baby dying in a casino parking lot years ago when the parent went into gamble. https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather- ... at/1668071olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 5:27 pmThanks Ted. Unfortunately, as the saying goes, you can't fix stupid. And, also unfortunately, you can't stop stupid people from procreating, and subjecting their offspring to the sometimes fatal consequences of that stupidity.
What's needed, and, of course, will never happen, is some sort of parental competency test before people are allowed to take babies home.

Hmmmmmm!!! Would have to give that one some thought. Then how could Big Foot visit his relatives down here. I guess the wall wouldn’t be much of a problem for him!
Getting back to the topic for a second, I remember Some years ago on the Judge Judy show her scolding some total loser people on the show for having more and more babies when they were already bad parents and couldn’t even afford the children they had, therefore becoming a further drain on the Taxpayer.

One possible solution to the child left in a hot car could be easily done by AI. I know heat sensors can be used for hotels to know if someone is still in a room. Possibly, AI could detect things like either breathing, a beating heart, who knows even brain waves, and set off an alarm in the vehicle if the interior temperature rose to a certain level. I believe this will happen in the very near future. We already have auto braking etc now.

AI is probably a good thing - because, without it, some people will have no "I" at all.

. That’s a good one and so true. Look at all the stuff the new cars have built in already for people who can’t drive. Speaking of AI, I might also suggest a Robot in the homes of the losers that could try and straighten them out, although that would probably be too much of a task even for AI. Some would probably overload their circuits and just short out. Hmmmmm, on second thought, I could use one at the casino to hit the cash out button for me.

Set up a loud alarm on your phone to ring in exactly one hour and leave posthaste. You’ll be startled out of your wits and just pack up the operation.
