Jitney Fare Jump
According to Lite 96.9 WFPG, the jitney fare will jump 20% to $3 on August 12. Nothing light about this fare increase. WFAA is despondent and disillusioned. Dig deeper for a Marina change of pace and endless Harrah’s losses or Borgata beat downs. Hopefully this at least lessens the demand resulting in full jitneys bypassing vexed tourists. In the summer of course, we will simply pay up, grinning and bearing.

So much for 2 percent inflation. One of many examples. A Dave’s single at Wendy’s ( up here ) without coupons is 7.89 if you can believe that. None of this stuff is any good for you, but I now have the Apps for McD, Burger King, Starbucks, Panera, Dunkin, Brueggers, and a couple more. Navigating them is another story, but the savings are big. Of course the administration released strategic oil reserves in an attempt to lower gas prices only to replace them at an inflated price then cry to Congress that they need more money since the reserves are too low. That story broke today. I could go on, but I won’t here on this thread.

That's an inordinate and unfair increase (didn't it just go up last year?) when you consider that many residents rely on jitneys to shop and get around town.
Maybe Caesars will step up their Total Rewards shuttle program for casino patrons. They do still have it don't they?

FAA, may I suggest this -
Please note that the trike folds up and you can carry it with you. Legal in all 50 states.
Or, a skateboard maybe? Roller skates, for the exercise?

Wow - the fare is increasing by a whopping 50 cents! Would you prefer that the increase be more in line with the overall inflation rate, resulting in a fare of $2.59?

That additional. 50 can pay for, well, nothing.

It rose to $2.50 less than a year ago from $2.25. It is culture shock/sticker shock to see a $3 fare in such a quaint, small city which happens to be mobbed three months a year. The hike would cost me $24/year max. I guess I’ll finally get 20 vouchers next trip for $40.
I have also resorted to apps for most of the companies mentioned. The savings are just too good to ignore.

Does this mean that you are reducing the tips that you are so gracious with by a commensurate amount to offset the price increase of the jitney rides? My gosh, how will those Atlantic City cocktail servers, bartenders, bellhops, JITNEY DRIVERS, et al, live?FAA wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 8:10 amIt rose to $2.50 less than a year ago from $2.25.
