Las Vegas RESORT FEES
Does anyone remember exactly when Vegas Resort fees became so ubiquitous and costly (by that I mean in the $25 a day range)????Also, what CURRENT-UP TO DATE info does anyone have on which Vegas Hotel Casinos do NOT have Resort Fees?I searched and found a number of sites but they all say that this issue of Resort fees changes often and quickly..... example: http://www.examiner.com/article/2014-la ... iniguideit is fairly ridiculous that these places do this type of deception with the COST of a typical stay....since guests have no choice to accept the Fees no matter whether they utilize the services covered by the fees or not, why don't they simply have their costs reflect the TRUE dollar amount of everything?Does everyone find that their host(s) will, if they ask remove the fees....?

DaBurglar when you booked your 10 day stay through Southwest Vacations did they spell out any resort fees? I'm asking because I am interested in Southwest Vacations but not if they don't spell out ALL costs upfront. Do CET Diamond and Seven Stars players get this fee waived and that's why these fees may change so quickly?

Ted,
As a player, I would book the hotel and airfare separately. Should you "get lucky", and play where you stay, any comp $ you earn will not be deducted from your pre-paid room. They could be applied to on-site meals and amenities but by using 3rd party booking, you forfeit those earned room comps.
Can't help you on the Resort Fee issue, as they have always been waived by a host.

I don't know how things work out west guys, but it may very well be similar to Mohegan Sun since they try and imitate some of the Vegas programs and policies. Here if you pay any amount for a room, you are stuck with resort fees and taxes. If the room is comped, these fees are waived. If you can't get a host to comp you ahead of time, based on play at other casinos that could easily be verified and you have to pay for a room, they may waive everything before checkout bases on play from your stay. As a level 3 player in Ct. we don't even have assigned hosts anymore, but can talk to any host who is available. That works better sometimes especially when nowdays everyone's individual phone seems to slide into voicemail. Again, I'm not sure if some of this will work that way out west, but it might. If it was me, I would talk to another player who maybe has a host where you intend to stay and either have them ask some questions or even better call the host yourself and see what you can get done on your own. Good point about booking air and room separately, because those resort fees and taxes can easily be a couple of hundred bucks just for a couple of nights stay. Good luck.

If you book a VEGAS vacation package, the hotel you choose apparently still hacks on Resort Fees....unless the Vegas Hotel itself does NOT charge Resort fees, such as the ones on the Link I provided.Booking Air and room individually is OBVIOUSLY better for SOME people who happen to be high rollers, and who are planning on staying for a 4-5 day visit to Vegas.....but if you are planning a 10 day or longer visit and want everything taken care of with one transaction and not have to worry about jumping from Hotel to Hotel every two or 3 days, then a Vacation Package is a good deal. Especially if you choose one of the more economical Hotel options, Like the Station Casinos or the DOWNTOWN Vegas hotels like Four Queens or The "D", or the Plaza.I think I am booking with Four Queens, apparently they do not charge Resort fees at all......

DaBurglar I am confused. In a different post you said that you were "definitely going to Vegas" two trips, one for WSOP and a different trip. You said that you have scheduled these and you BOOKED the vacation package trip. Did you NOT book the vacation package trip then? Is it because of resort fees? Did you cancel the vacation package trip because of the hidden resort fees? Can you clarify? Or maybe can you post a picture of the confirmation with determining proof that it is your confirmation? I really want to explore the option of vacation package trips but now I'm leery.

http://www.cheapovegas.com/resort_fees.phpGood resource to bookmark....as I pointed out before, four queens in Downtown is Resort fee-FREE, so is the Fremont, and the Golden Nugget (one of the nicest places in ALL of vegas, without much of the BS and sprawl of the strip) only charges 5 bucks!

DaBurglar I noticed that you failed to answer the questions in my recent post; care to answer them? Thank You.
