I am not sure if this will continue on, but for this month the SouthPoint Casino have made their promotions exclusive to those that receive mailers based on what I heard on Gambling With An Edge commercial break. The last couple of months had both promotions open to the public (such as the money madness promotions where the progressive jackpots are hit randomly) and those exclusive to mailers. Most casinos I've been to do this, their private promotions are better.
If you have a mailer from the SouthPoint, can you at least tell me if it is more lucrative than what was offered publicly before? A return trip would be necessary.
On a side note, with all the downgrading they did to their games this year, do they still have more than 10,000 games returning over 99%?

There hasn't been massive downgrades to south point. If you count different variants on the same machine as different games, I'm sure they still have over 10k. But the number available is only a concern if you struggle to get on a game you want. I have yet to see a vegas casino with a significant amount of VP machines occupied. Off strip casinos especially have SO many! Now St. Louis, Joliet, and Hammond can get definitely get busy on the weekend.

It seems like the downgrades only happened with the games that pose a threat to the casino on the double point days, Mr. Dancer still mentions that amount during the commercial break (my favorite part of the show) thus I believe the availability is still there.
I've never been to a guaranteed point multiplier day at an off strip place. I wonder if it gets crowded then.
For sure there are plenty of open seats on video poker machines on the strip. I only see 1 or 2 players at most on every bank. Better to play a Shufflemaster table game when the paytables are 7/5 Jacks, 8/5 DDB, Colorado Deuces, 9/6/4 DB, 6/5 BP for quarters. You get 1 direct paytable upgrade for $1, so 7/5 Bonus Poker will be the best for majority of Strip casinos.

I've been attending the VP classes and did notice their was a lack of promotions the last few weeks.

The promotions are included in the monthly mailer at least for the month of August.
I am not sure if you have it sent to your Henderson residence or back in the east coast. You have to look at it. If the address is set correctly and you did not get anything in the mail, it might be because you've played mostly VP and no slots.

I believe my August offer was $15 in free play. Usually they run promos like get 300 points and get a spin or extra free play. I don't see that this month.
Strangely, though my address is local, they keep sending me free rooms, and food comps only if checked in to the room.

I appreciate that you've shared about what you got on your mailer this month. Based on your mailer content and how much Mr. Dancer is against spreading of misinformation, I am somewhat led to believe that the promotions are by invite only on top of the mailers.
This promotion exclusivity to mailers could mark a change of things at the SouthPoint, including the "everyone is equal" philosophy set by Mr. Gaughan. More specifically, Mr. Dancer stated the casino is looking to invest more towards their loyal customers, or something to that extent.

My play with them has been greatly reduced. In Jan/Feb, I stayed there six nites and spent eight nites next door at the Grandview. Must have given them easily two hours a day, sometimes four or more. Other than a decent day on Memorial Day, I've only been there for two Dancer classes and given them maybe 45 minutes play each time. I'm playing VP in Henderson much more than I expected to and playing a good deal of BJ at the Longhorn.

I think they had two double point days in May, I heard one prominent player who participates on the vpFREE board getting his/her player card privileges revoked that very month. On the same thread a lot of information by the players were disclosed.
In general they will punish people for winning, if you won on that day, I think that might be the action they took on your current mailer.

For this month of September, the SouthPoint Casino has changed their minds and opened up a promotion to everyone with a Club card.
I will find out during Mr. Dancer's GWAE radio show today if there are still promotions for the players who receive mailers.
$500,000 Big Spin & Win
I believe Mr. Dancer has mentioned in the past that his wife "Bonnie" was one of the fortunate ones to spin this wheel in the past; though it was him that played on both Club cards (the SouthPoint permits this in their rules) to double his chances.
