Re: DESPERATE FOR BUSINESS??
I'd venture to say they're trying to lure you away from wherever it is that you do your gaming and keep a good comp point balance. whoever shared or sold this info was foolish and might ruin your loyalty to that casino. I'm surprised that Eduardo doesn't carry diamond status.
I've seen this when a staff employee with access to records jumps ship from one casino to another. I'm sure that it's a no-no, but part of the biz, I guess.

I have always wondered where the wynn and venetian got my name from. i had stayed at the venetian in the past two times with an old job but no one else from that company got mailers. never stayed at the wynn and don't care for it esp. after seeing the room. what a disappointment!
maybe the employees jumping ship is the way... who knows!

wow, that's pretty FAR in advance.
You would think with a free offer they would want you to come in STAT (since biz has slowed some) and make it expire by the end of April like the recent Venetian offer I just got.

I think it's pretty obvious the down economy has hurt all businesses, casinos included. That, coupled with the increase in tribal gaming in California, has put some hard times on casinos in Nevada. Reno has had a couple of casinos close in the last year, and my wife and I get offers all the time for free rooms, meals, and free play from Vegas, and we haven't been there since summer of '07.
I know that when we go to the indian casinos here locally, there's never a problem getting on machines that used to be packed all night. Same with Reno, when we do weekend trips there. I'd look for more casinos to be closing in 2009...

My understanding is that the casinos in Laughlin are seeing a loss of visitors in the middle...that is, they are still ok with high rollers and the low end addicted gamblers, but the more responsible frequent or infrequent middle class visitors who make up the vast majority of the clientele are down several percentage points from last year, which equals a large volume of business. What this means is more layoffs at the casinos, shoddier service, increased prices, and decreased paytables, all of which simply serve to drive even more gamblers away.
As far as casino deals and promotions, regardless of what you receive in the mail. never hesitate to pick up the phone and ask for something better. If the person you are speaking to doesn't have the authority to bump you up, ask for a supervisor. As previously mentioned on this thread, there is a tremendous difference in basic cost of expense to the casino in giving away a room that will be empty anyway vs giving away a room that prevents a paying guest from occupying. Don't hesitate to play one casino against another, and let them know you are doing so.

scorpio, I'm removing your comment. If you want to talk about "RNG tinkering" stories, feel free to start a new topic on it to receive appropriate responses, but we need to keep threads on-topic and your comments were unrelated.

Come now, the WM said that you could post more RNG theories, just not in the current thread. I hope any you post are new ones, and not ones that have been hashed over recently in other threads.
Congrats to your wife for the $1,000 winners she hit recently in AC. I guess the RNG tinkering hasn't reached there yet.
