Lake Tahoe Casinos

Post by Vol »

Anybody on this Forum familiar with South Lake Tahoe (also called Stateline NV) casinos?  I believe there are about 6 and Harrah's is the largest.  Is it also the best?  Any VP advice?

We're going this Sunday, 1/15, and so far there is no natural snow.  So the casinos might get a workout.

Go to Harvey's and ask for a bartender named Mark Bartholomew tell him Frank Kneeland says "hi". All my info on Tahoe is too old to be useful sorry...

I was there last in 2008. Harrah's and Harvey's (both part of Caesar's Entertainment) are big casinos with, last I had seen, Vegas Strip type vp pay tables (not good). The Horizon has a huge casino floor and had some very playable games at that time (99% and up). The Montblue (formally Caesar's) had a nice floor but not much to choose from. Definitely spend more time checking out the lake and the sights and less time in the casinos.

I highly recommend eating breakfast or lunch at Friday's Station, on the top floor of Harrah's. Reasonable prices and great views. A little pricey for dinner though.

vol,
Haven't played there in over a decade but check out the link of Reno-Tahoe casinos.

Good luck.

Frank, Royal, Mule, Lucky,  -- thanks, all, for some very helpful advice.  I'm sure we'll see some beautiful mountains, try Friday's Station, and look for some nearly positive pay tables.  Maybe Mark Bartholomew will buy us a drink!
