Re: Harrahs Lake Tahoe
I just had a wonderful vacation in Tahoe. The hard rock casino opened this weekend. It provides more restaurant options and should bring more people to the area. I also went skiing. The area lacks snow, but they keep the main trails in good shape.

Based on the posts I've seen on VPFree forums, they've said their selection of games are not great at the Hard Rock compared to others within the area.

ChattyCatty,
I got flight reimbursement for the first time, which was awesome. I expect to get it on future trips as well.
If I go to Tahoe using my Diamond Aspirations trip or my Seven Stars annual trip (which already provides free airfare), is there a way to get the some value out of the free flight they were going to give me? I've heard the concept of "stacked offers" mentioned, but not sure what they are.
Thanks

Joe, I do not think you can get double reimbursement for flight. It does not hurt to try and if you succeed please let me know. The advantage of the 80,000 diamond trip or the 7 star trip is you can go any time you want. If you use the flight reimbursement program you are limited on the dates you can travel. At least we are out of DFW.
BTW, we are leaving this weekend for Tahoe. We are meeting another 7 star couple we hung out with on our 7 star event cruise out of NOLA. Did you ever do your 7 star event cruise? We really enjoyed ours. Probably the best single value we have ever received from CET. Never played VP on the cruise as the only paytables I saw was 6/5 regardless of the game.

Yes I did the 7 stars cruise. It was awesome and the freebies were great. I'm planning to do the cruise again this year, along with the additional taxes-only cruise NCL provides to 7stars players. You were right that the vp pay tables were terrible. I only played craps on the cruise, which is my game of enjoyment.
I'm going to Vegas in two weeks and perhaps another Tahoe trip at the end of March (not tinalized yet). Perhaps at some point are trips will be the same. I may do one summer concert as well.

We have never done a regular 7 star cruise before. Seven or eight days is a little too long for us to be gone at one time. We like the 2 to 4 day casino junket/trips which are like land cruises to us. But that 7 star event cruise was just too good of a deal to pass up. After a while we kept keeping track of the receipts for the free drinks we got with NCL's ultimate beverage package.
I think unless CET has an event that is just too good to pass up, this coming September we are going to use our regular 7 star cruise to go to Alaska. We did an Alaska cruise about 10 to 15 years ago and really enjoyed it. Even though we would have to pay for taxes and port fees its still a pretty good deal and from where we live we can fly into Seattle for about $300 apiece.
The only other Tahoe trip besides this coming weekend we are for sure on at this point is in mid to end of June. Like you, we are kind of waiting to see what are options are for the Summer Concert series at Harvey's. As far as what has been announced so far there is not anyone playing there yet that makes me want to cancel everything I was going to do and be there.
Are you going back on the Dawn again out of NOLA?

I would consider another cruise out of NOLA again. I will have to see what the choices are. NOLA is great because it's a location with a casino. I might even wrap my 7 stars trip around the cruise dates to get the airfare picked up.
Last year my NCL cruise was out of Venice, and I might do a different europen cruise this year. As you probably saw on your cruise, you can spend $250 for a voucher covering port fees and taxes on a future cruise and you get a $100 credit now. Pretty good deal.
I did see that Train is coming to Tahoe. That might not be too bad but I'd like to see who else is coming. I only play enough to get offers for mid tier performers but who knows what I will get. I earned 75,000 points there last week.

With that type of play, if you give them enough notice they should be able to give you tickets to whoever you want to see. I like old 70's music. I was hoping maybe Fleetwood Mac or I know its too much to ask Pink Floyd would reunite and perform at Tahoe this summer.

I usually plan on playing $50,000 coin on per day at vp. It gets me 5,000 points and the 10,000 bonus. That's not quite enough action to get top tickets (such as last years Eagles, lady gaga, Bruno Mars) or even a comped limo. But I can get mostly anything I want (which isn't much)

As a 7 star you automatically get comped limo from airport to casino. We always get limo ride from Reno Airport to Tahoe. It is not something that I would normally pay for but since its free with the exception of a nice tip to the limo driver you gotta love the perk. By far best limo ride of any of the CET property we frequent. Limo has fully stocked bar and snacks. I would have got Eagles tickets last year but waited too long to make up my mind. Will definitely not make that mistake again if it is someone that I really would like to see.
