Chattycattty (or anyone else),

whats your preferred room at harrahs lake tahoe? On the site, i just see luxury, premium and executive rooms. Do they have anything else worthwhile? What view do you prefer? Mointains? Lake?

any insite that can be provided would be appreciated. Thx

Since you made it half way to 7 star on your last trip at the very least you have a host or the right to call up and ask for one. Be prepared to give them your players card number and based on your play they should be able to accommodate you.

The best rooms at Harrah's are the Summit Suites. They are on the top floor with butler service, approx. 3000 sq. ft. They are hard to get but if they are not very busy it never hurts to ask. Most of the time we get a spa suite. They are about 1200 s.f. and have separate living room and bedroom as well as 2 bathrooms.

The executive rooms are nice as well. They are about 600 s.f. and also have 2 bathrooms. On occasion we get one of these when they are extremely busy. The other type of rooms are fairly basic and it has been so long since we have stayed in one I cannot tell you much about them.

As far as the view goes I would go with a lake view. In addition to a better view, you will be a lot closer to the elevators. The way Harrah's is laid out if you get a mountain view spa suite you will have about a half mile walk to the elevators.

Awesome info.  ThanksHosts tend to be very mysterious on what they will or won't do.  And most of it is on the back-end (and they wipe out your reward credits!!)I will try for the spa suite with the lake view.  Any idea what kind of ADT you need for these types of rooms?  Mine was $500/day.   Lot's of coin-on on the 9/6 JOB.One more thing.  I was told that hosts don't have access to show tickets (unless you got a corporate offer).  So if I go during the summer months, they can't get me tickets - I'd have to use ticketmaster or stubhub.  Sound right?

If you play at the same level you did on your last trip, if I understand your situation correctly you will be right at 150,000 TC's. Again, I would call and request to discuss your opportunities with a host on duty. Tahoe is like Vegas in that you will have to use your RC's to pay for food and other room charges.

Additionally, I would be surprised if you are not able to get comped tickets to any of the summer concerts. It has been my experience that the hosts at Tahoe are friendly and approachable. They are more appreciative IMO than Vegas hosts are, in developing new players.

I just got back from a 4-night trip to Tahoe.  Had a great time, and earned enough points for 7-Stars.  I love that place.

Glad you enjoyed Tahoe, had a great time, and reached 7 star card status. If you do not know about it already there is a wealth of knowledge available to 7 star members at sevenstarsinsider.com. It lays out most of the benefits but there are still many perks out there that you find out about that are property specific that you find out about from other 7 star players.

They have some great outdoor concerts at Harvey's Lake Tahoe this Summer. We are in the process of booking our Summer trips. We are looking at Sarah McLaughlin in June, Carrie Underwood and Journey in July, and the Eagles in August. Maybe we will run into you on one of those trips.

Do you get corporate offers for those events?   Or does your host provide the tickets? I was told that the summer offers haven't been mailed yet.

We have our host do it for us. Have yet to be denied. The Summer concerts are amazing. Nothing compares to watching the sun go down at the most beautiful place on this planet and listening to great music. At your level of play you should have no problems getting tickets comped. Which concert or concerts are you planning on going to?

I'm not sure.  I was there in March and just now in May.  I was thinking about just waiting until ski season. However, my host told me about that cruise you get as a 7-stars.  And the weather is really nice.  So I would consider Bruno Mars or Lady Gaga.   Those seem to be the popular ones.

Tahoe in the Summer is better than Tahoe in the Winter. I like to ski as well but in the Summer there is so much more to do. The weather reaches 70 to 80 degrees for a high throughout the Summer with little or no humidity. Nighttime lows are usually in the high 40's to low 50's. It did snow on us once in late June while we were hiking Mt. Rose so you never know.

In addition to outdoor activities there are lots of places to visit nearby: Yosemite, Carson City, Virginia City, the Truckee River, a drive around the Lake, Vikingholm's Castle, Camp Richardson, and several wineries we've been to but do not recall their name.

I hope it works out for you so you can give Tahoe a try at least once in the Summer. The concerts are just the icing on the cake.

I've only been to Tahoe once back in 96. Drove the 31/2 hour or so trip from my sister's house in Sonoma and had a really nice time at Harrah's. Was not a high roller by any means, but I remember they comped everything and for the next year or so would send green or black cardboard chips in the mail for return visits. I never had the time or opportunity to return so far or even get to Vegas for that matter, but both are in future plans.
